Which division is better the AFC or NFC and im talking over which has better teams and better players discuss and vote

i like the nfc better this year ever since 02 the afc has been taking over but this year the nfc is much more competitive excluding our division and the nfc has better offensive players but the afc has better defensive players imo

Hard to say really both have been ultra competitive this season.

If you look at the latest ESPN power rankings, out of the top 10 teams, 5 are from the AFC and 5 are from the NFC. If you look at the top 15 teams, the NFC has 8 while the AFC has 7. However, i would have the Texans right now ahead of the cards (who are currently 15th), so they would sway it to the AFC. Ultimately though, it seems pretty even this year.

Just so you know the next time, the C stands for CONFERENCE, not division...just trying to be helpful...

It is even if you look at the ranks of the top teams, but I think you gotta say NFC
AFC teams that are very good/could make it SB:
Steelers, Titans, Ravens, Colts (debatable)

AFC teams that might look good but are pretenders:
Broncos (no defense whatsoever), Dolphins (Pennington is playing smart but he won't scare a legit defense), Jets (Favre makes too many mistakes/D is overrated), Patriots (Cassel is not a starter, so he had a good game against the Raiders, who cares; terrible secondary/aging LB core besides Mayo)

NFC teams that are very good/could go to the SB:
Panthers, Giants, Cowboys (also debatable, but now that Romo's healthy, we'll see), Falcons (Matt Ryan has 2 pics, no TDs and they still beat the Bucs, solid all-around team)

NFC teams that might look good but are pretenders:
Cardinals, Vikings (if Jackson continues to play well, this could change), Bears, Buccaneers (they could be on the cusp of moving up)

If you look at the top two teams of conference that I said are SB contenders (again, this is just my opinion, obviously) I think that it's clear the NFC elite teams are better.

Steelers- playing great football, no doubt about it. My main concern with them is the inability of their o-line to pass protect. Can big ben survive in december/january with the shots hes been taking all year? If those controversial calls had gone the other way, I think Ravens woulda won. The bottom line about the Steelers is this: when you have a team that is built around the run and run-blocking but is 23rd in the league in rushing, and your o-line has trouble pass-protecting, you're in for trouble come january.

Titans- Collins is playing at a high level, but can they win in the playoffs if their running game is shut down? I can see them being turned into a bit of a 1-dimensional team there. Combined with the loss of Big Al for the forseeable future along with their recent stumbles over the past two games, people aren't as high on the Titans as they were earlier this year.

Ravens- nasty defense and a plethora of RBs to carry the load. The problem is that none of those RBs are dominant, and each looks very bad at times. Flacco is performing great for a rookie (great for a vet too), but he isn't playoff tested and I don't know that he can play well when the run game is taken away from him (see: Steelers v. Ravens game, week 15).

Colts- these guys are actually my pick to go the SB, mainly b/c when u have Peyton you always have a shot. They're playing good ball, but a lot of their success depends on if Bob Sanders can stay healthy, which is usually not the case. He impacts that D so much, and I don't see him staying healthy for a complete SB run to help toughen up the D. When your best RB is currently Dominic Rhodes, you have problems.

NFC SB hopefuls:

Giants: a good pass rush leads to good defense, as we were all reminded of last february. The G men still have it. Sure they lost to Philly, but that was a tough divisional game and they didn't catch any breaks from the refs like the Steelers did. Their QB is just as good as big ben (if not better), the running game is effective (1st overall)

Panthers: where did they come from? I think CAR/TENN are the surprise teams of the year. They're 4th in rushing and oh by the way, they have Steve Smith. Great D, led by that monster Jon Beason.

Cowboys- I'm not a believer, but hey they do have a crapload of talent. Romo makes great/dumb plays constantly. If barber comes back healthy though, lookout. D has stepped up recently. No way to predict their success/failure with #8 behind center.

Falcons- they have the Joe Flacco of the NFC, but that's where the comparison stops.D isn't nearly as good as the Ravens, but their offense is better in every category (tied for 1st in rushing while the Ravens are 4th, passing is 13th, while Ravens are an abysmal 28th in that department). Falcons can move the ball much better than the Ravens, and while they don't have the D that Baltimore does, they are middle of pack. McGahee + McClain + Rice still doesn't equal Michael "The Burner" Turner.
