but how the hell does tashard choice have 44 yards?
Did you notice Tashards carries? They fake the throw then give it to him, or just a simple delayed draw. The Ravens usually play really strict on one thing, it took em some adjusting and now theyre swallowing that run up
NyNinerFan
12-20-2008, 06:06 PM
but how the hell does tashard choice have 44 yards?
part of it was the long run where one of the Cowgirl lineman CLEARLY false started on their left side and it wasn't called, and some of the Raven players hesitated and therefore helped to open up the hole that Choice plowed through.

Absolutely, I buy jerseys for players I like. And I think hes next in line, hes got heart and talent, but whats so amazing is thats hes got hall of fame numbers ALREADY. I dunno anyone else outside of Hester, last year and the year before especially, that is more dangerous with the ball in his hands.

i don't think he blamed TO as much for the INT's as he is critiquing how he's running his routes.
the incomplete pass on the deep ball was just a failure on his part to get his head turned around and find the ball.. that's wide receiver 101. and that was basically a perfectly thrown ball.
the non-interception attempts to TO is what he (and I) am referring to when we look at what TO is doing in this game.

very true.
he's not only a ball hawk safety with exceptional cover skills and ball skils, he also has top notch elite ability as a return man..
it's amazing that all of those qualities are wrapped up into one player..

Except we don't have Ozzie Newsome and their scouting staff. I don't think that's realistic.

I still can't believe they traded the farm for an average receiver in Roy Williams.
Jones is probably regretting getting Williams.

What made the game hilarious is the Ravens went into grind out the clock mode, twice, and the Cowpukes let them score. The Ravens weren't even thinking TD, just run out the clock, and boom! Back to back TDs.

Owens is also starting to show his age.
Not that he still isn't an excellent WR, but he just seem to be anywhere near as explosive as he used to be. He's looking more like a really good possession receiver rather than the monster player he was.
Not knocking him, just observing. 70%-80% of TO is still better than most of the league.

It's funny that Tony has so much talent around him. I mean do they need Moss and AP to help?

Do they really? I think outside of a few players, the overall TEAM talent isn't really there. There running game really isn't there, their O-line is decent but not great, and their defense is very inconsistant.
The problem with throwing money at star players is it doesn't leave you with much to fill in the gaps.

I'm just saying, how many more players on offense can they afford to get for him. Even when Barber was healthy, he struggled.
Or has ESPN has forced me to drink the juice that is "Cowboys are a SB team" and I fell for it

Sorry to say, you fell for it.
The offense isn't 1/2 bad, but their defense is very middle of the road, and thus their un-doing.

basically
and add to that a team who has no respect whatsoever for their head coach or his authority, and a team that has no real leadership from a player standpoint

Barber isn't that great of a runningback in a full time role. Or at least he hasn't really shown it. This was a very good Baltimore Ravens team they faced tonight. The offense was there for the most part, but the defense couldn't stop the run to save their lives.

Their pass rush is legit. But they have no safeties.

Their pass rush is legit. But they have no safeties. exactly.
they've been very good at getting the QB the last couple years, among the very best in the league, but their secondary is so bad outside of Newman (who's having a pretty sub-par year) that if the QB does get time or gets the pass off before the rush gets there, they get torched.
a lot of Cowboys fans thought bringing Campo back to coach the secondary would be the answer...guess not.
and Romo's just strange. clearly, the Cowboys suck without him, and his presence helps just keep them in most games, if not win them. but he also has performances like tonight, with two big picks to Reed in just the first half. if i were a Cowboys fan the guy would drive me crazy with his inconsistency.
exactly.

He had a pretty good season last year. This year, the entire team looks like it's falling apart with it's lack of leadership and constant drama. I for one am glad the 49ers aren't in the spotlight as much as Dallas is...even when we were good, we didn't garner this much attention from the media, which can be disruptive as we've seen.
There's probably at the very least 10 guys I'd take over Romo. Until he can prove to win big games on a consistent basis he's not quite the level people hype him up to be. Lot of INTs and a lot of fumbles, if he fixes that he can be top 5 easy.
Yeah but it's not really his fault that people hype him up more than perhaps he should be. Happens to a lot of players. Regardless, I'd still rather have him at helm with the 49ers at least. A place like this might be better for him without all of the distractions that Dallas has to offer.

Agreed and agreed.
The thing about Romo is he doesn't suck. He's not a bad QB. But if you listen to ESPN and lot of other sports media, they talk about him as if he's the next Brett Favre who's already having a HOF career. And that fact is, he's not THAT good. And thus when he has a medicore game, it seems like he crashed that much harder.

back when the 49ers were really good, even still just making the playoffs at the start of the decade, you didn't have nearly as many message board armchair QBs and GMs, non-stop internet access with video breakdowns and clips to digest, the NFL Network, the increasing popularity of Madden, etc.
the public eye has more access and puts more pressure on guys than even just 10 years ago.
especially being in as large of a market as Dallas, which is what you alluded to in your next post about him possibly taking it easier if he were somewhere like San Fran.

he's definitely not a bad QB. he actually has a losing record against the Redskins since he took over as the starter, but every time we play the Cowboys i'm wary of him making big plays while scrambling away from the sack. i'm almost afraid to blitz him because that's when he either commits a dumb turnover, or does some crazy trick where he runs around and flings the ball downfield to Witten for a TD.
he had a play last year against us, where the snap went over his head, he turned around and it bounced immediately back into his hand, he rolled away from a blitzer, spun out of another sack, and threw it to T.O. downfield for a 30-some yard gain. at the same time, i know he's also good for about 2 turnovers a game.
the media just hypes him up so much despite the fact he hasn't won a big game yet, and the pressure of Jerry Jones, the Dallas media, keeping T.O. happy, etc., all adds up to probably stress the guy out a lot more than he needs.
