View Full Version : What About Moreno At 10?

Now this is assuming Jenkins, Smith, Crabtree and the other "locks" are all off the board when we pick.

I know people are going to think I'm crazy for taking a RB because we have Gore, but I just have a bad feeling that one of these years he is going to get hurt early, and as dependent as we are on him it could potentially kill our season with really no other good options.

Besides that, with Singletary preaching run, run, run I would think we would want a dangerous 2 back system much like the Titans or Giants.

Moreno seems to be off the board at around the 15th pick by alot of sites so we would be in a pretty good area to pick him if we wanted to.

I'm not really a big fan of Mays, thats why I am looking at all options.

i said this in a previous thread. we need a playmaker and another RB to share the load. Moreno or Wells wouldn't be my first pick at #10 but if it happened I wouldn't be pissed and I certainly would understand the pick.
Agreed. A Gore and Moreno backfield would be pretty scary if you ask me.

I forgot to mention, I think we need playmakers on offense period. I know our defense can use some patching up but I think the offense is far worse. We have no home run threats and we have to manufacture 10 play drives, and our team is so mistake prone that we simply can't do that.

Yea, completely agreed.

If any of the 'locks' are gone I wouldn't mind us trading down accumulating some picks and taking Moreno around #15-16 area.

Like you guys said we need playmakers. Moreno is an amazing back and a combo of him and Gore would be pretty scary.

No point. RB's are pretty easy to find, especially later in the draft.

If the niners were to take a RB at 10, I'd want it to be more of a sure thing than Moreno. I like him, but he has the body of a scat back and runs like he's much bigger. I don't know how that's goint to work out. If he can add bulk, specifically to his lower body, he'd be better fit to run the way that he does in college.

I Like the Idea of Maclin......

Yea, I wouldn't mind that either. We need speed in a bad way on this team. This is not a knock on Vernon, but when your TE is the fastest player on your offense, that speaks volumes on how slow your skill position players are.

Well, technically Jason Hill is faster than Vernon.

 no joke though, we have a slow as offense. ANd our seconday doesn't have any blazers either. We are fast at LB and TE go figure.

I'm all for taking a RB but 3rd round or lower.

I'd rather take C.J. Spiller or Javon Ringer outside of the first round. A duel runningback attack makes sense if we're going to run the ball as much as Singletary says we will.

NO. How would that help this team? I think we have a perfectly good running back.
We need too much help on defense, and our O line.
That pick makes zero sense, and is totally illogical.

I like Shonn Greene a lot. He'd compliment Gore very well.

I like him alot too. He seems to never quit on a run. His size, strength, and quickness makes him a strong dual back. But his pass catching is very suspect.

hell no, way too high to consider a rb. RBs can be found all over a draft, it happens every year. we don't need to even look at one before round 4.
