I think a lot of people are underestimating the Cardinals in the playoffs. They've been real hot recently especially with the play of Larry Fitzgerald. I really REALLY hope the Eagles pull it off next Sunday, but it's going to be tough keeping Arizona's receivers in check.
I'm gonna go ahead and say it's gonna be San Diego and Arizona in the Super Bowl.

I can't believe how well the Cards have played the last 2 weeks. Practically EVERYONE (including myself) had counted them out. Wiz is a genius.

This season has been weak, yes. There are no stand out great teams, now that the Giants lost Plax. As for the Titans, I was never really that impressed with them. The Ravens right now are "the team" if you ask me. What defense, and mistake-free offense. Flacco isn't afraid to go deep, too. Good stuff.
But even with that said, the Cardinals have earned where they are. They beat a good Falcons team, then dominated a really good Panthers team. They have just played their game, and stepped up their defense.
Also, when Hightower took over as RB, that's when the Cards started to lose. With James starting in the backfield, they DOMINATE games. I don't think that's a coincidence. Now you have a great 1-2 with Warner and James, both with great leadership and playoff experience. The Cards are legit. They proved me wrong, and I'm happy they did.
The Eagles can beat them, but I think it will be close. Too close to call.
The winner will lose to the Ravens. :P

The Cards did earn it. Getting to the NFC Tite Game is still getting to the NFC Title Game. However, that does not mean it is not conditional. Both the Falcons and Panthers made mistakes uncharacteristic of the best playoff teams, and while some of it can be attributed to ARZ's D, the best playoff teams (which the Falcons and Panthers were not a part of) do not make mistakes like that. The Cards just have not been tested thoroughly in a tough game to the end, which inevitably does happen in the playoffs.

Well I certainly don't "like" the Steelers, but why would I root against them? I really don't care who wins the Super Bowl at this point, I really just want to see a great game...and that's how I usually take it once the 49ers are elminated. Like I also said, it would be unfortunate for the Steelers to become the first ball club to win six rings, but there really isn't anything complaining is going to do about it. But that's just the angle I take.

I don't have to take it lying down while twiddling my thumbs babbling about how it was a good game, that's my point.
Of course complaining won't do anything about it (which is not what I am saying though), but neither will being diplomatic or PC. I would rather feel emotion as a fan than pretend to be diplomatic towards other teams.

Yes, at least I get to feel something. I'm for rationality and composure in most things outside of sports (I am actually a very calm person), but when it comes to being a fan, I choose to be emotional.
Note: This is not to say I do not use rationality when it comes to analysis. When it comes to rooting for teams and watching games, I choose to be emotional, yes. When it comes to dissecting our team, strategy, personnel, and related topics, yes, I am very rational and largely without emotion.
It is basically akin to leaving it on the field of fandom.

Look, ARZ isn't a full-fledged rivalry (yet), but rooting for them simply because they are in our division is highly dubious. I don't give a crap if they "rep the division." I couldn't give less of a crap about our division getting 'repped' in the playoffs if it isn't us.
Talking about history? Why don't YOU do some research, and you will realize the Rams-SF rivalry was very heated back in the day. It no longer is a real rivalry IMO, but the history of it warrants at least some hate among 49ers fans, and acknowledgement from all. At the very least, it is more hate-filled from a 49er fan standpoint than most of the teams you listed.

Our division was one of if not the worst divisions in football, so if the Cardinals make the Superbowl it would be kinda funny. I dont "hate" the Cardinals, I respect what they have done. Now the Rams and Seattle are a different story, I dont like either of those teams at all.
I'm just happy to see Philly against Arizona in the NFCCG. Would have rather seen Carolina vs Philly (because Carolina is my second favorite team), but that didnt happen so this is going to be an interesting game.

And don't give me that "Divisional rivalry" crap. Yeah, during the season, we want them to lose. But now it's time to face the facts: The Niners are staying home during the playoffs. So why not pull for a division opponent?

The thing is, you almost have to feel obligated to root for someone, and with only 4 teams left now you kind of choose based on random things. As far as Im concerned I don't want to see Pittsburgh win #6, so on that side I am going to root for the Ravens. The other end however see's Philly vs Arizona, now I'm not particularly "fond" of either team I have been known, and LEANED on one guy the past 4 years in Fantasy Football ............. that player was Anquan Boldin.
So naturally I root for him every week that he plays (except against the niners) and I think I will be rooting for the cards next week, plus they are the underdogs; it's always easier to route for the underdogs compared to the favorites.
Finally since the cards are in the division I know more about the cardinals than the eagles, so naturally I'm going to root for a team that I know more about than the eagles

LMFAO that is so true even though the Tard trolls will deny it. This has easily been one of the most dull seasons I've ever seen.
Dull? Really? Two rookie QBs make an unprecedented impact? NFL players are shooting themselves? Dallas has a mega implosion (even bigger than their typical ones)? Singletary kicks a player off the field? The Dolphins make an unprecedented turnaround from a 1-15 season? The first ever 0-16 team in the history of the NFL? I can keep going...
Look, I'm not a Cards fan...but even I can show some respect to the enemy. Regardless of whether or not the Cards run is a fluke or not, the way they have been able to defy the pundits and odds through their first two playoff games is truly amazing. The same can be said for the Eagles and how they came into the playoffs on a roll after spanking the daylights out of the Cowgirls.
Besides, the story of the underdog is almost becoming common in the NFL. Within the last few years we've seen some improbable playoff runs with the Steelers and Giants...it seems this decade might become the decade of the underdogs.

None of those are in our division. Arizona is in our division. **** them.
Yet they are more our rivals than Arizona has ever been. How can the team that has had the run of the division for the most part of 20 years have a rivalry with the team that was the doormat of that division (no offense intended Cards fans, just stating the facts. As most True Cards fans can admit)?
The 49ers are rivals with the Cowboys and Giants because we kept meeting them in the play-offs year after year. We were playing them at the highest level every year. The Cards? Until our franchise was "Yorked" they where just an auto w on our schedule (again, just the facts).
Heck, the Cards aren't even NFC West traditionally. They were in the NFC east before all the reorganizing. They don't even have any real history of important games versus the Niners. How many times have the Cards played the Niners in the playoffs? I can remember at least one game against the Rams back in the day, but none against the Cards. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyway, I'll leave it at that. Dang it, no "fish" avatar to go with my post so lets see how this works:

Slow down Scooter, Philly is going to beat the hell out of you guys, at your house no less.
Are they? Cards are better at home and the place will be loud. 50/50 game as far as I'm concerned, especially with the Eagles being so streaky.
It annoys me that a 9-7 hosts not one, but TWO games at home.

I'm not sure who is gonna win this game, but I'm pulling hard for the Cardinals. The 49ers and Cardinals are starting to build a rivalry... but I'd much rather see our division succeed. I also cannot stand anything to do with Philadelphia, especially the Eagles.

The Cardinals should perform better this Sunday than they did on Thanksgiving Day. However, I think the Eagles can and will blow out the Cardinals again, this time in Arizona.

LOL if it ends up being the Cards Vs Ravens in the Superbowl. Both are small market teams, it would probably end up being the lowest rated superbowl ever.
I would watch the Ravens pummel the crap out of the cards.

No matter who's in the big dance, it will officially be the worst Super Bowl I can imagine in some time (probably the worst since the Pats vs. Panthers.)
