Okay all 49er fans, you know **** well you hate the cowboys with a passion. If we were never to get a 6th super bowl (hypothetically speaking only) who would you rather see get the 1st 6th ring. I **** sure don't want the cowgirls to get it. So be honest with me, I think the steelers will beat the ravens in the AFC champ game, but I think we will all be rooting for the Eagles to beat them. Cause the cards don't stand a chance and their whole season was based on flukes and lucks. They won't do **** in the west next year!!!!:banghead:

Zero question the Steelers...but the real answer is neither.

Pittsburgh is the last team of the final four I'd like to see win it all.

I would love to see Dallas get it only because it would piss off so many people here. I get so sick of people here rubbing our 5 SB's in other people's faces.

Actually, neither team getting to 6 before us would really bothers me so long as we get ours in the near future. I don't really care what other teams do.

So you are pissed about people being proud of this franchise's history? Of course there is a line between homerism and being a proud fan, but "rubbing 5 SB's in other people's faces" is part of being a fan as long as they are decent about it. Doesn't mean you have to do it as well, but you should at least acknowledge that this team's achievements will be brought up in discussion, and rightly so.

I would say the bolded part does mean you care 'what other teams do', because you make it conditional if they get #6.

Who made me God? WTF are you taking about? Look at it this way, if you are that much of a hater so that this would really bother you, you deserve what's coming to you. If you don't really care, then it won't even bother you. So many people here take so much pleasure in Dallas' misfortunes and those people deserve what they get.

I am not pissed about people being proud. But there is difference between being proud and repeatedly rubbing it in. Not only that, our fans live in the past so much it is ridiculous. Every time there is a coaching position available there are always threads asking for an ex-player or Walsh descendant to be hired.

Sure, I expect our team's history to be brought up. But people around here act as if it's still 1989.

As far as caring about other teams. I misstated that. What I meant to say was that I don't really care if either team go to 6 before we did so long as we got ours in the near future (as in, in my lifetime). And even then, I don't really care that much about other teams passing us. I am much more concerned about how we do.

Get lost jmichura

you are a traitor.

do you have a Cowboys jersey stashed in your closet?

You probably never watched any of the Niners/Cowgirls games in the 90's so you don't understand the rivalry.

do you think a Eagles or Redskins fan would want to see the Cowgirls win another title?

No!!!

Dallas brings the hate on to themselves by hiring thugs and goons to play for them and a douchebag owner.

Using 5 trophys as a gloat to non-Niner fans isn't necessarily taking football too serious. Jeez, some people need to just lighten up.

1) Yes, I watched those games in the 90's. I understand the rivalry we HAD with them.

2) The Cowboys are a different team than they used to be. Our team is very much different. The players are different, the coaches are different and even the owners are different.

3) There is no longer a rivalry. We aren't in the same division and neither team has done anything substantial in the last 10+ years. And with us being terrible the last 5+ years, I very much doubt they are concerned with us.

4) In the era of free agency, this "rivalry" with the Cowboys is petty. Players don't even take this sort of thing as seriously as fans do. TO now plays for the very star he mocked back in the day. Rice went to both the Raiders (a geographical rival) and the Seahawks (a division rival).

Sorry but I cheer for my team, what's best for my team, for players I like, and against players I despise. I will cheer against some ***** who goes around and shoots people more than a guy who plays for a team that use to beat us 10+ years ago.

And the Eagles and Redskins are different. They are actually in the same division. One's success usually means the other teams' failure.

You are the very type of moron that makes me want Dallas to get to 6 SB's first. As much as I dislike the Cowboys, I dislike people like you even more.

Seriously, the Steelers are my fav AFC team (2nd favorite) behind the Niners.
I remember in '94 they made the Championship game vs. the Chargers and fell just short of the goal line at the end (sound familiar).
It would have been epic at that point to have two 4-0 SB teams...1 gets their 5th ring, one would have had their first SB loss.

Ironically, if Martz hadnt blown that MNF game...9ers could very possibly be hosting the Beagles this Sunday....1 frakkin yard...1 frakkin yard. :banghead:

Neither! As a pure bred homer, I say the Niners are destined for Number Six before anyone else! And #7 and #8 for that matter! I told ja this was serious business....

Hmm, but I guess if I have to pick. anybody besides the Cowboys.

And I have to agree with the poster who said the Eagles are going to wih the Superbwl - so it's a moot question.

No offense but I really don't understand how people can have two favorite teams. Especially two teams with such a rich history. It gives you the appearance of a front-runner, even if it's not true.

Most people I know have "2nd favorite teams", including me (and yes, my 2nd favorite team happens to be the Steelers).

Actually, I have 3 teams:

1. San Francisco 49ers
Grew up in the Bay Area, they were the home team. 49ers fanbase is in my family, my entire mom's side of the family is 49ers fans. I root for the 49ers no matter what.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers
My father is a longtime Pittsburgh Steelers fan, so I began cheering for the Steelers for him. I grew up rooting for them because of him, so I like to see them do well. Only time I will root against them is when the 49ers interests are at stake.

3. Tennessee Titans
I have ties to Tennessee. My brother moved here, and I visited him here in 2000 (the year after they lost the Super Bowl). Visiting Tennessee was the first big trip I took outside of California (save for trips to Reno, Nevada), and while I was here, my brother took me to a Titans pre-season game against the Rams. It was my first ever NFL game. Now, I also live just outside of Nashville, so they are my current home team.

I also have a "bandwagon" interest in the Colts, because I like Peyton Manning. But once Peyton is gone, I won't give a **** about the Colts.

And if you can't get behind that, well then it doesn't bother me. I can root for whoever I want :)

But above all, I root for the 49ers through and through. Any interests I have in the Steelers and the Titans don't come anywhere CLOSE to my interests in the 49ers.

Give it to dallas so we have some more fuel to use when we play them. Im sure they were pissed when we took it in 94 or else they would have 6 to our 4, but they came right back the next year and evened it up.

I am surprised nobody complains about the weak AFC North.

"as far as the 49ers being the first to 6........that bragging right doesn't mean much to me. It did when I was 8 but those brag wars are too juvenile to worry about."

it also would be juvenile to worry if the Niners win their games on Sunday.

I don't get that logic.

The Steelers every year it seems go undefeated in their division.

The Ravens were their only true competition and the Bengals and Browns we all know how good they are except for maybe 2 seasons where they were competitive.

everyone *****ed about how the Niners played in a soft division in the 90's.
