a source? sure. anyways it would be the GM gone. Holmgren would not come as the coach, he would take over the GM job. and Holmgren advised Mcloughan to keep smith? for how long? Considering Holmgren has not said when he will return to football, he thinks A. Smith wil be around IF he comes to the 49ers AS the GM....PLUS Singletary would not be fired after one season. If he wins more than a game...he is back. So come to reality...Holmgren has a shot to come to the 49ers...but as the GM.
