That's a good one. I remember a lot of these "experts" where saying that we should have picked him instead of P Willi

Anyone got an update on him and how's it working out so far in comparision to Patrick Willis?

Patrick Willis makes Jack Baur look like PeeWee Herman.

I remember alot of people on this board were all for Carriker.
It was very Carriker Versus Willis around draft time 2 years ago, here.
Never really saw much in Carriker, and wanted Willis at 10 from the start. I also wanted VD the year we drafted him too, when it was VD versus AJ Hawk.
Right now, I personally dont see VD being what his potential was showing, but k=now he has an OC that liked to go to the TE.

Jump that gun why don't you... Wait until he's got at least six probowls and multiple All-pro. Many a young player has started hot, gotten a lot of media attention, and found himself going nowhere fast.
Right now Urlacher is a classic case. Six probowls early in his career and now he's making the "all over-rated" teams. I would not be surprised to see this leave a very bad taste in the mouths of voters and he doesn't get in.

I think VD will end up being the better pick than Hawk anyway because he has more than shown his mettle in the blocking department and he has great separation from coverage ability. If we let Hill start from beginning to end and pending any injury to either i believe VD can have a probowl year.
Where as with Hawk, he's pretty much what you see is what you get. He's a slightly above average LB...and that's about it.

Yeah Carriker pretty much blows. But im not gonna lie like a lot of other people around here, I wanted Laron Landry at first. But as it kept getting closer to draft day, i realized that Landry wouldnt be there at 10 (especially after his combine) aso then it was Willis all the way. I remember getting into huge fights with people on the board who felt that Willis "couldn't shed blocks".

What a mistake by Nolan.

Yep, I was one of the people who wanted Carriker instead of Willis during that draft. I was also one of the probably .01% of nfl fans that said the Texans didn't make a mistake drafting Mario Williams instead of Bush. You win some you lose some.
One of Carrikers problems is that he has been injured, not to say thats the only thing, but its one of them.
