I just want a safety, and a the best one possible. We have talent, but no proven commodities, just potential and talent.

If the coaches really feel that Dashon will suffice, then pass rusher, quarterback, and receiver would all be good pending free agency.

Depends on FA Exactly. Too early for this thread. I'd say OT but I'm hoping we'll get that in FA so I'll hold off on voting.

Knowshon at 10. We can get a good Safety in round 2 then maybe Ron Brace in the 3rd.

I think we should go with the best player available.

About this whole Malcolm Jenkins idea, I don't like him at F.S..
He's a corner, from a program known for good, but not great corners .... He's not Donte Whitner, I have to get that out!
Malcolm Jenkins is a decent cover guy, with average speed, who doesn't like contact all that much, and he talks a lot! I don't see him topping 4.5 in the 40 next week.
Personally, I think he's a little over-rated. Having said that, I don't think he'll be available at 10. And if he is, I could never take him over Michael Oher. Sorry guys, just my opinion.

Those are the guys im willing to even trade up a couple of numbers : Raji,J Smith,Oher

everyone that says DT needs to realize that there are 3 teams ahead of us that will likely pick BJ Raji that leaves only Peria jerry as a first round DT and he would be a huge reach at 10. but at 10 we can definetly get Oher or Rey Mualuga and maybe get Malcolm Jenkins or Jason Smith. so to me for this draft a t makes a ton more sense at 10

All depends on FA and who is available. You cant lock in position, you have to get the best talent available in the Niners case.

drafting a RB is like drafting a WR in the first round, high risk low reward. Who is better Ted Ginn or Eddie Royal? Ronnie Brown or Frank Gore, Reggie Bush or Steve Slaton?

The most logical post one can make regarding this thread.

I think OT is the way to go at the 10 spot. I feel like there isnt a OT in FA that is worth our serious consideration. We let Jennings go so I honestly think the writing is on the wall. To be honest I think after OT we should try and get some depth at S and RB in the later rounds of the draft.

If we don't bolster the D line then a FS is immediate or Roman continues to get burned weekly....

so im not saying rey maualuga isnt a good ILB, but why do we need to pick another ILB when we have some many other problems?

If we keep A. Smith, I really can't see us investing more money in a rookie QB in the first round. At this early stage, I voted for WR especially if Crabtree is available (which he won't)

We need to get an OL or the DT from BC, I can't see us drafting a S so high since Mays isn't in the draft. There isn't a S in the draft that is deserving a 10th pick. We can get a S in FA.

Oh god especially if Seattle gets Crabtree. That would be (as of right now) boldin, fitz, holt, and crabtree we all have to face every year. Clements is a solid football player but it always sems to boil down to over-the-top help on deep routes that KILL us. PLEASE CUT ROMAN!!!!! :drive:

So your telling me Crabtree wouldnt be a good pick? Would that not open the box up for franky and the run having a deep threat of his magnitude? Like ive said, ONLY Crabs would make sense if we draft any offensive position other than o-line in the first round.

I cannot wait for FA - then we can really debate who to draft. A couple of good free agents changes everything.

OLB/DE. Everette Brown is going to be a NFL stud. We cant let him pass. He's going to be like Shawne Merriman on steriods...without the steriods.

take a stud, regardless of position.

don't draft projection and potential at #10.

draft someone who has proven his play against nfl draftable players.

It's early I know but as of right now I'd pick up an OT in FA. In the 1st round of the draft I'd trade back and take RB Wells with my first pick and Jerry Peria or Ron Brace with my 2nd pick. Thoughts?

not a bad plan at all to go RB in the first and DT in the 2nd. But I will add:

1. his name is Peria Jerry, not Jerry Peria. I know its odd, but something for you to note in the future.

2. Peria Jerry will be gone in the 1st round for sure. No way he falls into the 2nd.

Actually I screwed up a bit in my earlier post. I meant to say that we trade back and take a top RB with our 1st pick and then package either two seconds or a 2nd or 3rd rounder to get back in the late 1st round and get a NT or DT with that pick.
That's assuming we pick up an OT in FA which is what I think we'll do.
