Mack at three for Centre? Heyward-Bey ahead of Harvin? Jason Smith the top rated OT?
Thoughts on Mayock's choices?

I think Mack is the best center.
I agree with Heyward-Bey ahead of Harvin. Harvin is a much bigger risk too.
Jason Smith, I'm not so sure about. All these tackles seem close right now to me.

People are hatin on Harvin like they did DeSean Jackson....Harvin was the best player on the field on one leg in National Championship.

I wasn't hating on Desean last year because he was the most talented WR in that draft, and also most polished. He was just undersized and had his work ethic questioned.
Unlike Harvin, he has a defined position. Who knows what the hell Harvin will be in the NFL? WR? HB? And at either position, he'll need A LOT of work; unlike Desean who was already NFL ready.

Something interesting to think about, Peria Jerry will be 25 his rookie season. Will this turn any teams away?

Wasn't John Beck like 26 or something?
It's way different for QB's though. They tend to be able to play at a high level into their older years more than lineman.
Ronnie Lott talks about in his book how Pierce Holt dropped in the draft because of his age (26 as a rookie) and how Walsh took a chance on him.

Good point. But to answer your question, I don't think so. It would make no sense to pass on a player and take a less talented one just for his age. Age wouldn't matter unless it gets crazy like a dude being 28 or so. Then it becomes a factor, but 25? I wouldn't put much into it.
I personally wouldn't mind much as a GM. But I doubt you see him go to a team that's rebuilding. Which is a given in itself considering he grades out as a later first round pick.
