Calvin Johnson and Bryant Johnson sounds like they could be an interesting tandem if they ever find a QB.

A league source tells PFT that Bryant Johnson has agreed to terms on a three-year, $9 million deal.

No shock, we knew we would let BJ walk.

That's why we signed another BJ

have fun in that NFL graveyard. Yes you cashed in for 3 years, but after that, who's going to want you?

 Think they'll win a game?

yes. the odds of two 0-16 seasons, back-to-back nonetheless, make it very likely they'll win one. plus they have a new coach that i think has a promising future.

His production really stayed the same in his transition from Arizona to San Francisco. He didn't "break out" like many expected. Still, our wide receiver department isn't exactly stellar. I probably would have kept him around at least another year. Oh well, best of luck to him.

I wouldn't have kept him. The knock on him in AZ was bad hands and it carried over to SF. I would have let him go too and only showed very lil interest in re-signing him.

But 2 0-16 seasons would be incredibly funny.

true. it would be even funnier if it happened to like the rams or the cowboys

Good match for both sides. They get a possession guy opposite CJ and he gets his shot to start, something he would likely not get from any other team.

Too bad. I liked Bryant Johnson. I think he got a bad rap for being soft due to the hamstring injury. When he was healthy he was tough and productive.

I wish him the best of luck.

Yeah he wasn't great at all. Still, since our team is struggling anyway I would have given him another year if the price were right.

Hopefully we'll have a good draft and good FA signing period. I am tired of missing the playoffs :(

Sorry if its been posted.

The Lions have had a taste for first-round receivers.

And they've added another one.

A league source tells PFT that Bryant Johnson has agreed to terms on a three-year, $9 million deal.

Johnson was a first-round selection of the Cardinals in 2003, but he was overshadowed by 2003 second-rounder Anquan Boldin and 2004 first-rounder Larry Fitzgerald.

Johnson joined the 49ers via free agency in 2008, under a one-year deal. He and Isaac Bruce were the starters last season.

Bah, I dont think his rep sunk him, I think the emergence of Morgan did. They like Morgan better as a physical guy, and they want speed opposite him.

probably the same reason why a guy would turn down a multi-year deal with Buffalo to play with SF...

Why would anyone want to sign with Detroit?

I am guessing because Johnson feels he can start there opposite of Calvin. Plus since there already is a #1 caliber WR it take pressure off of him. Throw in that they have a good young RB. All they need is a decent QB and revamped OL they would have a dangerous offense.

NinerLifer
02-28-2009, 05:49 PM
If Lions get Stafford at #1 and have Clavin and Bryant, that offense could put up some pasing numbers, and Bryant would be a part of it.

I personally like Bryant and thought he would be a great #2.

Why would anyone want to sign with Detroit?

The Detroit Lions aren't that bad offensively. They had a 1000yd rusher in Kevin Smith and a 1000yd WR in Calvin Johnson. I think BJ will fit in nicely. They have a few pieces in line along with a good OC.

I've been drinking, but haven't the Lions already signed a WR? Wouldn't BJ be like 3rd on the depth chart at the very least? I don't know why he'd be happy with that.
