Davis conducted his Pro Day workout on Friday. And only one team attended.

The Colts, which also were the team that had the shortest distance to travel.

NFLN was also hard on Davis... looks like he's no longer the surefire 4th QB

Gee, I wonder why.. Possibly because he sucks ****? And, refresh my memory, haven't I been saying that since last October?

Some of you guys are weird, you buy into college hype like it's going out of style...
If it were worth the time, I'd give you guys 10 good reasons not to draft Davis, at all!
Not that it really matters, because I reeeeeaaaalllllly don't think this team is going QB in the first 4 rounds... Too many real needs to address.

I agree, we should go WR in round 1, WR in round 2, WR in round 3, WR in round 4, QB in round 5, WR in round 6, and QB in round 7! Then pick up a couple undrafted WR's!

Well looks like all of the Nate Davis lovers will be gone now. Knowing this board though someone will make a excuse of why only one team showed up and how he will still be a amazing QB. I wonder if the fact that he has a learning disability scared the teams away.

Hmm...I had a feeling he was a victim of the annual MB hype machine.

He could be okay still...he just won't be drafted very high.

At this point there's a chance he won't even be drafted

Amazing how one line can remove any shred of credibility from an article.

Also amazing how 2 games can remove 3 years of play. I'd still take him over Freeman.

while PFT is really bad at analyzing situations especially draft prospects, I wouldn't write off the statement that only 1 team was there and that the team just happened to be close geographically...

that said... I still believe he'll be between the 4th and 6th QB drafted...

over Freeman though? now I think that's a bit much

I have no idea how good Davis is or how high he'll go, but I wouldnt put much stock into this news.

For one thing, Davis threw at the combine (as well as did the workout) where all the teams could watch him. Add to that that its Ball State, and that this is a second workout day for that school as Davis skipped the first, and its not surprising teams wouldn't go.

It could be no one is interested, or it could be a lot of teams don't want other teams to know they are interested.

Using one game as my sample size, I could infer that JTO is one of the top 5 QBs in the NFL and that he's a much bette QB than Donovan McNabb http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter?game_id=29675&displayPage=tab_gamecenter&season=2008&seasonType=REG&week=11

I'm not sure if they had their pro day yet or not. But I imagine a lot of scouts will be at TT's pro day because of Michael Crabtree.

Why to sign his cast?

I'd love to hear those 10 good reasons. I've been telling you this since, well apparently October, when you first started failing to back up hate for Davis.

For what it's worth, the only team was Indianapolis. They're a good team...I think. Usually have some semblance of a clue as to how to run a franchise.

Davis is still a great prospect. He's short and has a learning disability. Everything else? Not many better QB's in this class.

This really isn't a huge issue. It's Ball State, not a school with a lot of huge name prospects. Honestly the entire draft has always been a little overrated in my opinion. But maybe I wouldn't perceive it that way if it wasn't for the consistent hype of the media and fans acting like it's an exact science and if player X doesn't go in a certain round, his future is doomed. As long as Nate Davis gets a shot, works his *** off, he'll most likely be a decent football player. I'm a firm believer that that kind of advice can go well for pretty much anyone. Injury issues are really the only thing I can see messing everything up.

its funny you bring up jackson. did he do better then i thought he would? yes. but the only reason he got on the field to start was because of injuries to most the wr'ing core. had some good games after that, but lets not make him out to be an all star. and like i said before, he did alot better then i thought he would.

and by the way, 5x did rag on both those players, i think he was a little harder on hardy then jackson though.

I was not impressed by Nate Davis at all when I saw him play this year. His mechanics look solid and he looks like a fine athlete, but outside of a few pretty throws, the 2 games I saw him play he looked like garbage... and he wasn't even playing good teams.

no need to blow some steam bro. This guy doesn't know **** about the draft & its proven. This is the same guy who said DeSean Jackson would never get off an NFL jam, and paraded around the fact that we passed on him twice. Then when I stated my facts he claimed that it was James Hardy he said would be horrible when we have posts of him bashing Jackson last year. POINT BEING: let it go. It aint even worth it.

Actually, I think they both suck. Jackson just got the benefit of having a pro-bowl caliber QB and stellar O line. You think because Jackson had an average season the guy is a legend. GAY!!

I think you have some bizarre receiver-fetish, that can only be satiated by watching skeletor fumble punts and throw away touchdowns!

Refresh my memory, did Skeletor make the pro-bowl? Will he make a pro-bowl, NO!
I remember watching Delanie Walker ****ing near kill him on that one punt return. I thought Jigga was going to run onto the field and start throwing girl-slaps at Walker for assaulting his man!

Get a room, and while your at it, spring for your buddy Lynch's bond money!
Wake me up when Skeletor actually does something. Oh, and one last thing, the moment McNabb finally leaves Philly, and Kolb takes over, that's officially the end of Jackson!

Yes I did, because I heard all this hype on the guy and was curious to see what he was all about it. And I can only base MY judgement of what I've seen, right?

It's not fair to hold those 2 games against him too tough, but the fact of the matter is that he looked like absolute garbage in 2 games that were especially big for him when people started to have an eye out for him.

Maybe he turns out to be a good QB anyways, but if a big name QB had 2 games as bad Davis' against anything but elite competition, skeptics would be raging... so I think it's only fair that ND playing 2 crap games against 2 crap teams earns him some justifiable criticism.

It's kind of a way to send a message that, if you had seen just about any other game, you'd be coming away with a very different opinion of him. Watch more of Davis if you can..it's worth it.

I am from Indiana and have seen Nate Davis play in person several times. I really believe he has the ability to be the very best QB to come out of this draft. He can make every throw on the field. He has a cannon for a arm but he can make the touch passes too. I am not sure what happened to him the last two games this past season but they were not the norm for him. I do know that he was very ill before and durring the conference championship game. In the bowl game the whole team looked horrible, it could have been the fact they lost their coach after the season. I also noticed that in the bowl game is the only time I have ever seen Nate play without his gloves and he looked horrible. I don't know why he would change up something like that in his final game but i'm guessing it was because several NFL scouts don't like qb's who wear gloves despite the two who threw in the superbowl this years success with gloves on their throwing hand.

So you think the QB class at the top is like the Alex Smith draft Ace? So do the Lions make the same mistake the Niners did and take a QB at No. 1 even if he is not worth it? I agree with you about Freeman. I do not see what others do in him.

Ace Matherton

Not showing up to his pro day says just as much about the amount of tape they have on this guy as anything you guys are contriving. There is reaally no reason for a team to go to his proday. If his agent were smart they would have scheduled him at another big time schools pro day. This strategy happens every year to talented players who go to non NFL producing schools.

They know his mesurments, they know he's a 2-5 rounder, they know if they show up (with no other NFL talented player at the pro day) they have given every team in the league a clue to who they may covet.

I still think he's the #3 QB, I'll take him over Freeman anyday and i would not put the top two very far ahead. Of course i dont view any of the Qb's this year anywhere near starter material for years. I think this is the worst QB class in a long long time and all the Stafford/Sanchez for #1 overall is BS, none of those guys has shown enough to be #1 overall with the talent at other positions starting to rise beyond the "name" Qb's.

Yes, I do... I was just explaining why my viewpoint may come across as biased to some.

I would love to go back and watch some of Nate Davis' old games if I could. It's the off-season and I have nothing better to do (other than my 60 hr/wk work schedule).

Any other teams have their Pro Day the same day? It could just be that other teams wanted to go where there were more players to scout. My guess is that he ends up getting a lot of individual workouts.

I thought this was a second pro day at Ball State? I thought they had an earlier one in which Davis did not participate and instead waited until later to have a whole day just for himself. Is this correct?

Some of the Ball State players went to a different school's pro day, I think(can't remember what school it was).
