Looks like he won't be re-signing with the 9ers. He signed a 3 year deal with the Jets.

good for him,now we will probably draft a corner somewhere in the draft.

Even tho he wasnt a star at the Corner position, he was still a productive player.. Now the draft becomes a bigger issue for the cornerback position

Well we have 9 picks so we should be just fine.

we will definitely draft a corner in the draft now that Strickland has signed with the Jets and that Reggie Smith has been moved to Safety.

I like the idea of drafting another great young corner, maybe Mickens in the 4th?

We can use Harris and Spencer at NB and DB. No Big loss.

I guess the Jets were impressed when we faced them last year.

lame

I think it was a big mistake letting him go elsewhere

especially after moving Smith to S

We have 9picks,and it wasen't like he was a CB we had to have we can find a young CB in the draft.

Good signing for them. Strickland is a solid nickel/dime corner.

unless it's in the first 2 rounds

I highly doubt a rookie CB will be as good as Strickland was last season

Strickland didn't stand out that much on the roster...he wasn't as bad as the likes of Sammy Davis, but he wasn't spectacular. I have more faith in Marcus Hudson and I'd like to see him get more chances. One thing is for certain, the days of Marcus Hudson trying to cover Anquan Boldin and continuously getting beat are over (even though they may have been since Boldin may not be with Arizona anymore.)

I'm very upset about this...

Niners should of signed him. A solid corner is hard to come by...should of front loaded the contract and signed him, niners have the cap space.

Now niners need to add corner on their long wish list for the draft. Could of used that pick on backup RB, WR, this team has so many holes its sad.

Need spencer is be healthy for once. This guy has been useless past 2 years.

Dude, chill out. The 49ers have nine selections in the draft. Harris, Clements, Spencer, Brown, and Hudson are already on the roster. Who is to say we weren't going to select a corner anyways? And there are always free agents. Strickland wasn't some dynamite player. He was a nickelback, and it wasn't like he was on the verge of starting. He was nearly thirty years old. We can find an adequate replacement already on the roster, via the draft, or free agency.
