I hope we pick up Summers. A few of us have been talking about him (http://forums.49ers.com/messageboard/showthread.php?t=70509) for a while now. Living in Vegas, he is not news to me. I like the kid. He grew up in Oakland so I am sure playing in the Bay would suit him just fine.
I did not see where it made any mention about the teams in attendance. I did a little poking around and the only thing I found was Steelers running backs coach Kirby Wilson was there.
Where did you read about our interest?

Sorry I misplaced the other article but It said he flew up to San Francisco recently to visit the team. So you think he would work for our needs?

im sure there are a few big rb's we are interested in, sing already said he wanted a bigger back to help out gore with carries, not to mention goal line formations.

i was thinking that.. 2 franks in the same backfield would get us even more gay talks...
if we drafted Beanie Wells tho.. we'd have Frank n Beans... i'd sport that shirt! lol

Living in Salt Lake I saw summers play both the Utes and BYU this year and he's a total dump truck at RB.. runs down hill and punishes people, he was a pretty good talent. Didnt have break away speed but really picked up that extra yard on every run

You know what they say about guys with large calfs?
Mullester, are you sure it was Summers that we were interested in, not Andre Brown?

Yes I do. He can be active at RB/FB and Special teams. He is a great value pick.

I think he could be valuable but not the back we are talking about as having that many carries to split with Frank... short yardage back? sure

how would Frank take being the lesser paid of the two
Franklin makes about $6.5 Million a year. I doubt Beanie would make more.

That is exactly how I see him. Short yardage, backup FB and special teams player. That is a ton of value for a 7th round draft pick.

amen brotha he's been one of my favorite backs for awhile now, i mean i like the others, but shonn greene really seems like he's the truth he akways falls foward/ fighting for extra yardage and he has good speed, perfect compliment for frank

Word is the Steelers watched this kid and they were impressed. I say we take him from them. Summers is big and can do damage at goal line situations. Everytime is think about 1st and goal from the 1 yard line, i think about how Gore couldn't push his way in against the Cardinals all the way through 4th down.

without a doubt. Let me put it to you this way, he is Marshawn Lynch without the baggage. well since i know little to nothing about the guy I'll just take your word for it, but either way it goes we need an extra running back
