i'm thinking that whoever falls in love with sanchez is going to move into the #3 spot to insure they get him.

the chiefs could leverage some great picks out of the deal if there is more than one team that's very interested.

who do you think are likely teams jones'n for sanchez?

cleveland -- mangenious wants to put his stamp on QB? maybe so

jacksonville -- need better play at QB, but they got to win now or coach is on hot seat. they'll draft for immediate impack.

49ers -- i'm guessing it's 50/50 sanchez is a 9er fav, but we don't have as much to offer.

seahawks -- could be quietly stalking sanchez.

denver -- they need a QB of the future; got lots of picks. but desperate for defensive players too.

washington -- they like to throw money around. a willing owner.

jets -- like the 49ers, they're a big city team with a podunk QB.

tampa bay -- need a QB; maybe not sanchez (freeman?).

vikings -- with cutler in chicago, this team may desperately reach for sanchez in order to compete.

Denver. That's kind of the invisible irony of the Cutler trade...you get a bounty of picks, and you might have to use 2 of them to replace the guy you just shipped....worse, you HOPE he works out. Denver didn't get as much from this as many media outlets will have you believe. They got some good value, but some of it immediately has to be reinvested to replace Cutler.

Doesn't help that they could have stood to draft exclusively on defense...so if they move up for Sanchez, they'll likely lose out on a top 15 defensive guy for it.

It looks like you answered your own question. Perhaps we need to ask who is willing to pay the price to move up that high for him?

this thread is stupid. no one would trade up to #3 for sanchez and kc wouldnt trade down losing curry just for a few picks.

oh.

Well, if Sanchez goes higher, another good prospect falls. It's a win for the 9ers. If he's there at 10, we can take him or trade the pick. Another win.

Personally, although I don't think he'll go at three, I believe someone will take him at or before pick eight.

if a team evaluated sanchez as a franchise QB they'd give up picks approaching cutler-like value for him. i could see the vikings trading two 1st round picks and a 2nd or 3rd for KC's pick. the vikes are close, and a sacrifice of picks to put you over the top in the next few years is worth it...IMO. you just have to think sanchez will soon be a pro bowl type QB. i don't happen to see him as that good, but some team might without much of a stretch of the imagination.

IMO, curry isn't one of those once-in-a-decade type of great players at his position. i don't think he even has more potential than patrick willis for example. so i can question drafting a LB at #3. to me, KC picking him is not a no-brainer lock...but that's just my opinion.

Seattle is a risk, albeit a slight one.

Hasselbeck isn't getting any younger and Sanchez would need a year on the bench anyway.

Scott Pioli has been known to trade down for more picks. It would not surprise me one bit if this happened.

if the Chiefs don't take Curry (a HUGE NEED) I will be shocked. They are queitly praying that Curry doesn't go #1 or 2. They should race to the Poteum with Curry's name in hand.
