View Full Version : Choice between two players at 10?

It's possible the 49ers won't be looking at an outside pass rusher with the 10th pick. Comcast recently asked McCloughan about the 10th selection, and McCloughan guesstimated that he have the choice between two players he wants at that spot. If he was considering pass rushers, he probably be looking at more than two players at 10.

Hmmm, i wonder who those 2 could be? I think Oher or A Smith, or possibly both, are definitely candidates. Maybe Sanchez or Maybin as well.

I would guess Crabtree or Maclin. I lovvvvvvvve wide receivers.

Fixed.

I would guess Oher is one of them. I don't see an instance where he'd be gone before 10. And I've already said too many times, I think Everette Brown should be the other one. We need pass rush very badly, too.

I think he means there's a lot more than 2, but he expects at least 2 of the guys he's targeting to still be there at 10.

Yes, this is what I took out of it as well. He is saying that there are 11 players in the draft he has interest in for that pick, and 9 will be gone, leaving 2 to pick from.

The 11, in no order..

Stafford, Sanchez, Raji, Brown, Orakpo, A. Smith, J.Smith, Oher, Monroe, Curry, Crabtree.

Id take Jason Smith at #10 if he was ever to make it there. Then, I would get Eugene Monroe.... if he was there again. Then, I would go with Raji since he is a NT.. but I still wouldnt even be sure to spend a #10 on him.

if it's not one of the four elite tackles, we gotta draft knowshon--he's such a winner...in just about every way.

It's probably either mark or sanchez.

I wouldn't take this comment seriously at all. Lot of grey area, and I doubt he even means it. 2 players ? C'mon.

I would strongly suspect OL. QB is a possibility, but a lesser one IMO.

I can just about guarantee that it won't be one of the skill positions on offense (Q.B., WR, and RB) drafted @ #10!!!! Only if Crabtree or Stafford fall is it a possibility...Sanchez or Maclin's name will not be called at #10 unless it is for a trade!!!Get over it Sanchez will not be a Niner; mark my words!!!:sfhelmet:

Totally Agree!!! Oher, A.Smith, E.Brown(if he falls) and possibly Jenkins are the only real choices here!!

With Oher and Smith being the same position and McCloughan already on record saying he thinks there are some great tackles in this draft. My guess is he expects one of them to be there, but he is bringing Sanchez in because of questions around his number of starts so he might fall, Raji in because of the drug test so he might fall, and Crabtree in because of the foot, so he might fall. If Raji, Sanchez or Crabtree are there, they are the pick, otherwise we are drafting OT. Raji is the only one of the 3 I think might be there.
