Malcolm Jenkins is missing, is that on purpose?
I'd be very surprised to see Orakpo fall that far, but there's always that draft day surprise.
Anyway, about the Maualuga pick, I really don't like it. Not that I don't think he'll be a good player, and he is a good fit for TED LB in our scheme, I just don't think we need to invest so much at the position.

Updated to include one trade and, of course, Matt Stafford's signing. 4/25 @ 3:45 AM EST
===========================================
1) Detroit Lions - QB, Matt Stafford CORRECT
It's official.
2) St. Louis Rams - OT, Jason Smith CORRECT
The new coaching staff in St. Louis has two things to do. #1 is to replace Orlando Pace. #2 is to support their best player, and that is Steven Jackson. Jason Smith is a tough and nasty player who edges out Eugene Monroe because of run blocking ability.
3) Kansas City Chiefs - DE, Tyson Jackson CORRECT
Hard to believe that Jackson has risen more than any other player in the draft. I was second guessing all of the buzz surrounding him, but I guess the Chiefs and Patriots really see a stud here. I can't believe they select another LSU defensive lineman after what Dorsey did last year, but maybe reuniting these two will bring out the best in both of them.
4) Seattle Seahawks - OT, Eugene Monroe WRONG
Seattle still has a young enough team that they can win now. It might be a sexy spot for Mark Sanchez to get drafted, but the fact is Hasselbeck is 34. That's not THAT old for a QB. Protect him by bolstering the line and try to win in 2009, not in 2010 and beyond.
5) Cleveland Browns - LB, Aaron Curry WRONG
It sure sounds like Crabtree burned some bridges when he visited Cleveland. Very odd, but they go with the BPA, and that's Aaron Curry.
6) Cincinnati Bengals - OT, Andre Smith CORRECT
Arguably the best offensive lineman in the entire draft, he would be in talks about the #2 or even #1 spot had the past 6 months gone differently. A great talent and a guy who could be a Pro-Bowl tackle for years.
7) Oakland Raiders - WR, Michael Crabtree WRONG
The Raiders need a wide receiver. Despite how much they might want a speedster, Crabtree is the best guy on the board and they already have Johnnie Lee Higgins who can stretch the field and really closed out the 2008 season with a bang.
*** TRADE ANNOUNCENTMENT ***
The Washington Redskins finagle a trade with the Jaguars for the #8 overall pick in the draft. I'm not sure what they give up, but they end up giving up more than the Jets were willing to.
8) Washington Redskins - QB, Mark Sanchez WRONG
Despite the fact that Jason Campbell is a good quarterback, Dan Snyder takes the guy he sees as the future of the Skins.
9) Green Bay Packers - DT, BJ Raji CORRECT
The Packers take the only legit nose tackle in the draft by grabbing Raji. They could also look towards Michael Oher at this spot, but they go with the player they have ranked higher.
10) San Francisco 49ers - OT, Michael Oher WRONG
I am personally VERY satisfied that we take a bookend tackle who has all the talent in the world to dominate. I think he'll only continue to get better and better. Marvel Smith could be a great addition, but if he gets injured (and that's very possible), do you really want to see Adam Snyder at right tackle? Oher will help us impose our will on opposing defenses.
11) Buffalo Bills - DE, Brian Orakpo WRONG
The Bills could really use an offensive tackle, but since Oher is gone, they take one of the best defensive ends in the draft.
12)Denver Broncos - DE, Robert Ayers WRONG/CORRECT (1/2 POINT)
Maybe Denver trades with the Redskins for Jason Campbell at some point in the draft, but at this point they decide to improve their defense. It starts with a versatile talent in Ayers, who can play with his hand on the ground and standing up in Mike Nolan's 3-4 defense.
13) Jacksonville Jaguars - WR, Jeremy Maclin WRONG
Great pick and great value at a spot of need for the Jaguars right here.
14) New Orleans Saints - CB, Malcolm Jenkins CORRECT
The Saints luck out by landing a real solid player and a real character guy in Jenkins. Despite his not-so-impressive timed speed, he's a solid player with great intagibles.
15) Houston Texans - OLB, Brian Cushing CORRECT
The Texans take one of the better and more versatile linebackers in the draft by taking Cushing. They could also go for a Percy Harvin at this spot, but the fact is he must be a complete ***** to test positive at the combine.
16) San Diego Chargers - LB, Rey Maualuga WRONG
The fans get what they want and have been sorely lacking for years, an inside linebacker with some ****ing attitude. Junior Seau 2.0 instantly becomes a fan favorite and also fits a position of need.
17) New York Jets - QB, Josh Freeman WRONG
The Jets find a replacement to Brett Favre and Chad Pennington in Freeman. He may not start from Week 1, but he'll start by the middle of the season.
18) Denver Broncos - OLB, Clay Matthews WRONG
More defensive help for the Broncos as they address their weak linebacker situation. Matthews is another guy who adds some depth and can contribute right away. Versatile to be moved around and rush the passer if needed.
19) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - DT, Peria Jerry WRONG
The Bucs are going to need defense to compete in the NFC South. Jerry is high on their boards and not only is the BPA at this spot, but also fits a great position of need.
20) Detroit Lions - OT, Eben Britton WRONG
Like the Falcons of 08', the Lions instantly protect the new face of the team by taking a tackle. While he's not the same in the same class as the top four tackles, Britton is an instant upgrade over their Lions' current starters.
21) Philadelphia Eagles - RB, Chris "Beanie" Wells WRONG
A big, versatile guy who can play split carries while backing up Brian Westbrook. Another weapon for Donovan McNabb. Wells could have a huge season with the new additions to Philly's bolstered offensive line.
22) Minnesota Vikings - WR, Percy Harvin CORRECT
The Vikings were looking long and hard for a stud WR, and perhaps the most explosive one of the draft falls to them because of his character concerns.
23) New England Patriots - OLB, Aaron Maybin WRONG
The pass rusher with the fastest first step falls all the way to the Patriots. They have enough depth that he can be used as a situational player.
24) Atlanta Falcons - CB, Vontae Davis WRONG
The talented Davis falls into the 20's because of character concerns but the Falcons find a great athlete to help compete against some of the great offenses of the NFC South.
25) Miami Dolphins - OLB, Everette Brown WRONG
Hard to believe that Brown falls this far, but his torture stops as the Dolphins take a Floridian to help them with their pass rush problems.
26) Baltimore Ravens - WR, Darius Heyward-Bey WRONG
The Ravens pick up a wide out to help Flacco have a better 2nd year than 1st year. Derrick Mason ain't getting any younger either and Heyward-Bey offers them a big target on offense.
27) Indianapolis Colts - DT, Evander "Ziggy" Hood WRONG
The Colts run defense flat out sucked last season. They will need to get some help at that spot because it is a massive weakness. Bob Sanders is a great safety in run support, but c'mon now.
28) Buffalo Bills - TE, Brandon Pettigrew WRONG
Bills fans rejoice when they finally land what could be a legit tight end. When was the last time the Bills had one of those???
29) New York Giants - OL, Alex Mack WRONG
The Giants improve what is already one of their strongest assets, the offensive line. Mack is a physical guy who has enough versatility to play both interior positions.
30) Tennessee Titans - CB, Alphonso Smith WRONG
Targeting a position of need the Titans grab the best corner on the board. They'll address the massive gap left by Haynesworth later on on Day 1.
31) Arizona Cardinals - RB, Knowshon Moreno WRONG
The Cardinals pick up a running back that can split carries with Tim Hightower.
32) Pittsburgh Steelers - OG, Max Unger WRONG
The Steelers take one of the best interior lineman in the draft to cap off the first round. They will be a tough team to unseat as the Superbowl Chamipions in 2009, and Unger gives them a tough inside lineman who should help pave the way for Mendenhall and Parker for years.
==========================
43) San Francisco 49ers - OLB, Larry English
74) San Francisco 49ers - RB, Andre Brown
111) San Francisco 49ers - S, Darcel McBath
146) San Francisco 49ers - LB, Jason Williams
171) San Francisco 49ers - LB, Franz Joseph
184) San Francisco 49ers - QB, Brian Hoyer
219) San Francisco 49ers - TE, Bear Pascoe
244) San Francisco 49ers - WR, Demetrius Byrd

If anyone trades up to 10 it would most likely be the Redskins or Jets IMO. Also in that scenario I think the BPA is Brown or Maybin (plus would fill a need -pass rush) not Rey.
No way Denver trades both the 12th and 18th pick to move up 2 spots to grab Sanchez. Odds are if Sanchez is their at 10 He will still be on the board at 12. If Denver really wants Sanchez they could prolly package the 12th along with a 3rd round pick to move up to the 8th spot to get him (if he still on the board).

2 LB's for us with 2 first round picks....
We need help on offense, I like picking ray at #12 but if we did get that 2nd pick in the first I would take a guy like P.Harvin.

I forgot Jenkins.... i'll redo this on my lunch break, lol.
Denver trades up because other teams (Bucs, Jets) are also looking to land Sanchez.

Yeah, I would love to get 2 first round picks and give up the 10th, but I think at least one of those has to be an offensive player, either OT, RB, or WR.

Why are so many mocks projecting Wells to NO? Pierre Thomas was a monster as the season winded down, monster.

-You are nuts if you think the Broncos will trade #12 and #18 to move up TWO spots. Get out of here with that talk.
-Call me crazy but I strongly believe McDaniels is sold on Orton. He sees a 22-12 career record as a starter. He made Cassel succeed, I see no reason why Orton can't.
-Rey sucks. He'd be a huge reach and it wouldn't even fill a need either. Absolutely terrible pick.
-The Texans will not pick a WR, especially one that could fall to the second round.
-I don't think Orakpo falls that far. Not at all. He's still the top rated pure PR in this draft.
-D.J. Moore is no longer a 1st round pick. Not even close. He's slow AND small. Butler or A. Smith are the two most obvious higher rated CB's.

ok, I put Jenkins in there. Talk about a brain fart. Anyhow, I appreciate all comments, both good and bad. At least this mock is different than all the other ones out there.
I see a team trading with us. Maybe it's the Skins. Maybe the Jets. I put the Broncos, but who knows. I hope we land Oher.

1) It's not as crazy as you think. We give them our 2nd rounder in exchange for them moving up two spots and giving up their 18th pick.
2) Rey Maualuga doesn't suck and he will be pretty **** productive in the NFL. He's not a Patrick Willis type guy, but he might hit harder. He WILL bring attitude and aggressiveness wherever he goes.
3) Picking up Harvin makes sense to me for the Texans. NO WAY he falls into round 2.
4) A lot of people have hesitation about Orakpo because he's already at his ceiling. Is he going to get any stronger? Probably not. He's a great pass rusher, but he's a bit stiff and might have already maxed out on potential. I see him falling.
5) No comment about DJ Moore. I just know they need a CB. It could very well be any of the other guys out there.

Trading down to get Rey Maualuga @ 12 when we already have Willis and Spikes is not such a good idea.....Rey is a hitter but not a sure-tackler...He doesn't wrap up and goes for the big hit instead...Oftentimes he over-pursues on misdirections....I think I just verped!!:sfhelmet:

Ok. I'm DONE. I updated it one more time to accomodate some recent changes, like the Tony Gonzalez trade, Harvin's F-up, and some recent buzz. I will not change it again. I also included potential picks for the rest of the 49ers draft.
Let me know what y'all think!
HAPPY DRAFT DAY!!!!!

No Crabtree in the entire first lawl...
I also think Oher is garbage so much so I would rather have Freeman over him(and this would be a nightmare too). If we draft a average lineman at the 10 spot I would want to puke in my mouth, this man won't ever be elite and has no upside imo.

fixed. man, it's funny. You think you've got everybody and then you leave out someone like Crabtree or Jenkins..
It's funny, I couldn't disagree with you MORE about Oher. The guy is oozing with potential and is already a pretty **** good lineman. I think he could be a perennial pro-bowler.
