I like the move. Gives them more versatility on defense.

Maybe that's why Nolan didn't take him. Because he was too slow to play the safety position.

Bing going to the Raiders gives me more reason to hate him. He's not going to be a good pro, especially with the position switch. But he was much too slow to play Safety

He wasn't going to play S. Only people dead set on it are the nimrods at our board.

Yeah, but even some slow defensive backs find a way to cover their positions. Bing just doesn't have that ability.
Draft day, heck... lots of people begging Nolan to take him to be our starting free safety. I guess they didn't read the scouting reports.
I'm just glad he's not a :sflogo:

We have Chad Williams. Kid played for coach, and whatever he does, I'm down. I ride with him.
and that's what i don't understand. People want a guy like bing to play FS LOL i can almost see them wanting him to stay at SS but moving back further from the ball and having deep zone responsibilities....NO!!!!
Saving the proportions, this is like cows fans wanting to stick Roy Williams as their FS... it just can't be done, and sooner or later, Santana Moss will burn you twice to overcome a 13-point deficit and win at your own backyard. :whistling:

Yes you are right, we were interested in drafting bing. but he had a poor work out during proday. he ran a 4.6 and 4.7. that's why he dropped so low in the draft. he's too slow to play free or strong safety. there was no point for us to draft him.

Maybe Nolan also saw USC's defense last year...that would also have clued him in on Bing.
