PLUS, Bretts legacy goes down a little. I hated Brett as the QB who beat my Niners. And if he becomes a Viking, specifically to BEAT the Packers, rofl Packer nation will hate him.

I love this drama! COME BACK BRETT!

I live in their back yard. They weren't in our division until 02. They haven't been a threat until last year. I root for them unless they are playing the niners, or unless them winning a game will hurt our chances of making the playoffs.

For real. Only 3 out of the last 4 years.. :slap:

And when we play, I root for the 49ers. Them winning any other games doesn't negatively affect us. Arizona winning other games does.

Anyway, I'm very fickle with my second favorite team. I'll probably hate them after they do something I don't like, like sign Brett Favre.

everyone is making it sound like favre just wants to play the game and he cant make up his mind about it. its not that at all. he wants to play for the vikings so he can really stick it to the packers twice a year. he only played for the jets so he could get away from the pack who would not trade him to the vikings. so he retires to get released from his contract so he can sign with the vikings at his own will. think about it. he played a year just to get out of his pack contract, and now got out of the other one to get to the one real place he wanted to play.

While I agree to a point, the problem with Favre is that he denies wanting to play or requesting a release from the Jets when it gets denied but he's quick to show you in his actions that he really wanted the release...i.e. just man up and say 'yeah i wanted to be released from the Jets so i can play elsewhere'...

Again, as I pointed out about one other agent. Favre's actions are of Favre's own doing you nor does anyone else put the blame on Bus Cook who does the asking on behalf of Favre but yet with other agents you don't put the blame on the players who want the big contracts you put it on that particular agent who's doing what his clients request and pay him for....

I can't believe Brett Favre is contemplating coming out of retirement again. Favre should retire. Favre has had a great career. What else does he need to prove?

The thing about Favre now is when plays, he starts out well, but he gets tired at the end of the year. Look at what he did with the Jets this past season. Their last game of the season was a must win and Favre didn't play well at all. It might've been Favre's fault that they lost the game and were eliminated from the playoffs. Do teams really want to take a risk and bring Favre in? The Vikings could probably use Favre though. He really wanted to go to the Vikings last year, before the Jets signed him..... I know this might come up on this message board but, the Niners probably shouldn't sign Favre, mainly because of what I mentioned earlier. It would be great to see Favre as a Niner but, would Favre be a good fit for the Niners?

Favre might really be bored.

The more people hate Favre, the more I like him. And I used to hate him as he owned the 49ers for years.

But funny how people hate Favre because the media covers him too much, like its Favre's fault. He doesn't ask 1st and 10, or Sportscenter, or the Jim Rome show to cover him everyday.

I have to agree. I also like how everyone foams at the mouth like they should be able to tell him when to retire.

If someone wants to sign him and he wants to play then he has every right to. It's not like you can't change your mind in life. He's not hurting anyone. It's almost like they'd rather watch Jonas Brother and miley cyrus news all day.

10-6 in 2006 and in 2004..they drafted mike nugent high because they were a playoff team but lost to SD due to bad kicking...they then traded for Thomas Jones 2 years ago because they had Chad carrying them and wanted balance and had lost Curtis Martin to retirement. Chad gets hurt and they win 4 games..coincidently both times Chad was hurt they win 4 games when he was healthy they win 10...Favre didnt' do anything for that team that a healthy chad didn't exceed.

They've been to the playoffs in the last 5 years...so they beat SF
they've won a playoff game in the last 5 years...so they beat dallas.

The Jags have a defense that really wants to beat people up which is what i like, yes they don't have the pass rush of the so called elite defenses nor do they force turnovers as consistently but for a stretch they were one of the better teams at forcing 3 and outs...as for the WR issue, When Jimmy Smith retired they lost their WR..

so the Packer fans can really see how much of a chump he is and how UNLOYAL he is to his roots!!! You never saw Steve or Joe go play with the Rams let alone another NFC team. Brett just likes to hear his name on the news and what’s worse is that he has a personal vendetta against the Packers front office. He would love to come back and stick it to them to fulfill his own personal battles. That’s “Kobe status” otherwise known as jerk status.

Like i said, IMO, i like the way they are built. Defense and running game first. I never said they had a pro bowl QB never said they had great WRs as they lost their great one when Smith retired.

Still none of that changes the fact that they've been to the playoffs and won a playoff game more recently than the Niners and Dallas.

Pitt, Baltimore, Jax, Minn and even Chicago are built with the same premise. Defense first Running game 2nd and pray that the QB has a 'fluke' year. I have no problems with the way those teams are built as it's the type of football i like...I prefer that over the high scoring Chiefs of a few years ago who didn't play defense and failed to make the playoffs despite being one of the higher scoring teams in the league...

Other teams sucking makes one teams suckage seem less sucky.

Simply put, knocking a team for the way they are built when your team cannot accomplish what the other team has accomplished is laughable (obviously i'm talking about niner fans complaining about Jags not NYG)...as pointed out before SB said that the Jags have sucked for some time but it wasn't long ago that they were in the playoffs or won a playoff game. While their record reminds me of ATL (one good year followed by one bad year and so on and so forth) they still have 2 things down pact. A physical defense and a good running game. Complaining about the way they are built is like complaining about the Titans, Ravens or pitt who are defense and run first and it's worked well for those teams. That's the point.

Ness

The Jags suck. Garrard had one fluke year, and they still couldnt win.

Even teams better than Jacksonville couldn't defeat New England. Obviously, the Giants were the only team to do so. They may have lost, but it's not like they choked or anything. As for Garrard, he isn't as inconsistent as he was two or three years ago. He basically had no protection plus no running game last season.
