• You know what really cracks me up about this latest twist in Favre's self-indulgence? Every time there's another Favre flip-flop coming on the retirement front, every veteran Favre-watcher in the media who had no idea what he was going to do about retirement the past five times feels compelled to tell us once again they have no idea what he's going to do this time.

Well, no kidding. Can we all just assume that no one knows what Favre is going to do at this point, given that even Favre doesn't know himself? Isn't that a tad obvious? The guy is incapable of making up his mind and sticking to it for an entire offseason. We get it. So why do the "experts'' feel the need to remind everyone of just how inaccurate they've been?

I'm glad someone in the media finally gets it. Now if we can get Mike Silver to stop talking about the Cardinals and Warner, and Peter King and ESPN to stop talking about the Cowboys we will all be in a much better world.

He "gets it", but I bet the next call in interview he does with Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown, he'll get asked if Favre is coming back and give the same "we don't know" analysis he's now complaining about.

When something is in the news, and you're a supposed expert (or even just a veteran at covering the topic), you're going to get asked about it repeatedly and give your answer, even if its "I dont know".

The media is just as responsible for this circus as Favre is.

Favre just wants to play, and he doesn't care if him playing hurts younger guys waiting behind him.

But the media is the one that makes everyone sick to death of it.

By the way, something I was thinking of while reading the article, but didnt mention in the post, doesn't Banks' article contribute to the Favre mania he is hoping to thwart? Maybe he was forced to do it by his boss but the article will definitely add fuel to the people looking for more Favre talk.

Yes it's the medias fault for giving favre the attention he craves. It's not about whether or not he hurts younger guys plans at the nfl as truely i think in alot of cases he deserves the chance over some of them but to ***** and moan about a team moving on when he told them he was retiring then to lie about not seeking a release when in reality he did only makes it worse. LIke I said, he denied the rumor about him wanting to play when GB was talking to him coming back and wanting him coming back. less than a week later he announced he wants to come back. People over look that and say GB did him wrong when they talked to him about having him come back to play and he said he was staying retired...

My biggest problem with Favre isn't about changing his mind...it's the reasons he wants to return. All these reports are indicating he really wants to stick it to Thompson and GB and I'm sorry, that's about as immature of reasoning I can imagine, especially when you couple that with the flip-flop decisions.

I still don't see what he has to stick to Thompson when Thompson and Mccarthy asked him to come back and play but he denied their request. Thompson even flew to his home to talk to him about playing. He acts like Thompson did him wrong for deciding Aaron was the QB but he only did that AFTER Brett refused his request for him to come back and play...

The changing his mind doesn't bother me so much because Strahan upon retirement put it simple. I feel like retiring today, but the real challenge will be in a few months when i'm rested and healed. Will I still want to stay retired or have the desire to play. I put Favre in that category of speaking without thinking but he continues to deny things later to prove them true..
