View Full Version : DeAngelo Hall furious about plummeted Madden ratnig.

I had seen the news late last week that Hall's rankings had taken the biggest drop of any player's in this year's edition of Electronic Arts' wildly successful Madden football videogame, plummeting 25 points from a 93 to a 68. And I had seen Hall's angry comments about that ratings hit on his Twitter feed.

"But as the release date gets closer, I'm starting to get a little bit more paranoid, I'm thinking about trying to get my name and likeness pulled off the game entirely. 'Cause this is bull."

Note to DeAngelo:

Just edit your own ratings when you get the game.

Dear DeAngelo Hall,

Worry about your game on the field...then it would show on the Madden game.

This is great!!

Does anyone know if this is the first time a NFL player has complained about their rating on a video game?

Him and Javon Kearse, are and were the two most overrated players for a number of years.

Kearse? He was actually very good back in Tennessee, and with his first year as an Eagle. Hall was never good.

Shouldn't be more upset about his plummeting NFL play?

He can't pull his likeness of the game. Those contracts are through the NFL.
The only way to not be a part of the game is to leave the league.

Maybe that'll be his excuse after he wears out his welcome in DC...

Bill Belichick doesn't have his name in Madden. I'm not sure if there is a difference between coaches and players doing it, if so maybe someone can explain it.

I am guessing a little here.. But i believe not all coaches are part of the NFL Coaches Association but all players are part of the NFL Players Association.

The NFL Coaches Association sells the rights to have NFL coaches' names appear in the Madden NFL games; Madden NFL 2001 was the first game in the series to feature this license.[14] Neither New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick nor Bill Parcells appeared in the game as they are not members of the NFL Coaches Association

From wiki.. but i have heard this before..

I have not checked the authenticity of the article, its most likely fake, but it is quite comical.

It appears to be a letter from a NFL player to Madden about his rating in the game. There is foul language in the article so beware.

68 total? That's like ... really poor. Not even NFL status. At least Mark Roman was in the 70s. Something seems fishy, here.

I think his rating was a little low to be honest. I wouldn't have him be a 68. Sounds personal. I think he deserved at least an 80.

They changed the ratings systems this year...

...middle-of-the-pack is between 65 and 75 and that's right where I'd put Hall. Players go all the way down to 40, apparently.

Sounds like the Madden 10 rating system is going to be like NFL Head Coach 09's rating system...there were some really low-ratings in that one. Willis was like a 92---and still one of the best LB'ers.

He needs to get over himself, and have a great year if he wants a high rating. He should be focused on things besides video games.

Ahhh okay. I was thinking that might be the case too. Too bad. I liked the system they had been using for several years.

LaVar Arrington wasn't in madden games for years until they finally got him. Something about him and his father not wanting his name sold. Needless to say, if you don't want in the game there are ways to make it happen.

Anyone who gets paid as much as he did and gets completely used like a rubber by a rookie playing in his first NFL game should be lucky Madden didn't just remove him from the game.

Asked about EA Sports' in-season roster updates, Hall responded:

"They do that as the season goes on, so hopefully if I grab 10 or 12 [interceptions], and get my respect back, my dignity back...we'll see."
