Old news it was done in like may but Jerry jones spent 1.2 billion for this amazing facility. We need to go big or go home...I want us to be able to host a super bowl or two and at this rate we never will.
these are our rivals ....we need to outdo them...im not really impressed with the design of our new one

1.2 Billion is way over the top with the economy the way it is right now IMO, hope we don't spend anything near that. I have heard that the Cardinals stadium was around 455 million dollars to build but the New York stadium will be towards 1.4 billion.

That Cowboys stadium is a beast.

But for us, why waste so much money on a stadium when no one comes to our games?

Look at the parking section at the bottom of the wiki page. 40 bucks for 1 regular parking spot, fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. 75 for premier parking, i assume that just means closer.

So you're telling me you'd take a $1.2 Billion Stadium over this:

Its sad if you're the type of person to put a price on your memories but a lot of people aren't like that. Maybe perhaps its because you aren't one of the faithful who grew up going to watch their beloved 49ers play or maybe you were just born stupid but please don't insult those who have stuck by the 49ers through thick and thin with your non sense. The Stick may be a dump but the memories it has Jerry Jones could never afford to purchase.

Do us all a favor, go root for Dallas. We don't need fans who root for us while we're on top of the football world but kick us while we're down nor do we want them.

Wow.

It's not that anyone's putting a price on memories - but the fact is the 49ers are trying to build a stadium in Santa Clara that looks sub-par compared to another stadium that is already finished (or just about). The 49ers might not have the money that Jones has, but just the design of the stadium looks goofy. Either way, the Niners want a new stadium, they are leaving the stick - its gonna happen.

And Texas Stadium holds a lot of memories for the Dallas Cowboys. And honestly Cowboys Stadium is a huge upgrade from Texas Stadium and in the future it will have memories as well. I mean, stadiums don't just get memories over-nighted to them. The new 49ers stadium will have new memories too, so I really don't see what your rant is about. The area Texas Stadium was in was a complete dump - I've been there and it's almost laughable when pulling up to it.

And who are you to tell someone to root for a different team? What, are you the VP of Fan Relations? If I wanted to be a Cowboys fan I easily could be considering they are all the rage where I'm from, but I have been a 49ers fan for over 15 years and constantly stick up for this team when Cowboy fans bash me - and living where I do I get a lot of heckling from Cowboys fans. Sorry to bother you with my opinions, but like it or not, we're Niner fans. I'm not going anywhere.

Cowboys own us in play-off records overall, not sure what Jones record is specifically at the 'stick, tho. Cowboy Stadium from what I've seen is beyond anything ever built. At least it doesn't have plastic turf on the concrete floor with real grass growing on the roof like we'll have in Santa Jose.

cool stadium., but i'd never pay $75 to park there.

In san diego we'd take the trolley to the stadium with a 12 pack and sandwiches, then we'd look for a pickup truck in the parking lot, pull down the tailgate and hang out.

It's a heck of a stadium, but I'm still thrilled about our Santa Clara design.

Im not comparing their new stadium to ours, im comparing the stick to the new texas stadium. The new texas stadium imho is the second best stadium in sports right now next to AT&T park, im not being bias but theres a reason why AT&T park was named sports facility of the year last year but to the person who said they'd take the new texas stadium over the stick they can go somewhere else with that ****.

its just like saying The New Yankee Stadium is better than The Old Yankee stadium. In reality it is just an upgraded version but where are the memories at? Guaranteed if the Yankees don't win anything in that stadium for the first few years of existence all fans will be missing the old ballpark.

As a Yankee STH, and yes I speak for the group, the memories are one thing, but you gotta move on. That park was built in 1923, renovated in 1974, it's time to move on. I can tell you about the long lines at bathrooms, people urinating in the sinks and waste baskets because it was so outdated and folks just wanted to get back to the action. I can say that up until recently, the food at the joint was awful, and the places to buy food were getting thinner and thinner. I can tell you yes: my first game in 1979, and what a feeling it was, the playoffs in 1981, and then getting tickets again in 1995 during that 13 inning game when the Yanks haven't been back since the early 80's, the noise and energy...Leyrtzs' dinger in the bleachers...Rags' no-hitter on 7/4/83...all games I went to. There are more, but the original facade went to the new park. It's only 50' away. Monument Park went with it as well, and the blue-print for the new park is exactly as the old old park as far as the limestone that was used, the design, and field dimensions. The place has real luxury boxes now, more bars and restaurants than the old place had by WAY far, and could even house a 400 person wedding or banquet. It creates a venue that is not just about the Yankees, but can also generate revenue for the team during the off-season.

I'm tellin ya, this is what owners want. They want stadiums that can bring in money more than 8-12 days a year. Get use to it.

The quality of the stadium has nothing to do with hosting the super bowl. The NFL recently has been trying to "reward" cities who fund a new stadium by giving them a super bowl to help spur the economy. To be on the recurring list of super bowls you need to be in a warm city, and have a city capable of handling all the hub-ub to go with it.

I think Santa Clara is a pretty good location for a super bowl, regardless of whether the Stadium costs 400 million instead of 1 billion. I don't think that it's going to get done though, it'll be 2020 before the 49ers have a new stadium unless it is 100% funded by the private sector.

I noticed Jerry spent 45 minutes at his self created press conference to discuss why this is the best facility in the world. Lot's of pats on the back and abuse of the english language to boot!

Hey Jerry, before you brag and brag and brag about how you provided the world with the largest video screen on the planet, you should have figured out how it wouldn't interfere with the ball in play.....

455M in a right to low wages state, vs 1.4B in a very pro-union state. There's the difference.

Fixed!

Also the cost of living is lower there because no one would want to live there if they could keep a good job in a "pro union state". All the people who can't cut it elsewhere drift to places like Arizona. Since you hate unions, please enjoy the wages at Wallmart and Winco.

I'm a business owner, of course I hate unions. j/k

I hate unions because they make everything expensive where I live. I hate them because for the most part, they drag their feet on large public works projects causing more taxation, traffic, ect. I am not referring to the guy at the grocery store who is unionized, I'm referring to the guy who puts down tile for living and makes 54.00 an hour, big difference.

And there are very few Walmarts in NY, because NY is unionized. If I did walk into one, they'd probably thow me out because I have all of my teeth.

There used to be a Walmart not far from where I live in CA. The employees attempted to unionize, and instead of fighting it the company closed the store. Keep buying that cheap crap, folks. Chinese laborers need your help.
