I don't see it happening any time soon, but what would your thoughts be on a trade for Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson? With the potential signing of Brett Favre looming, Jackson may request a trade. Jackson is 26 and had a 95.8 passer rating last season in a limited role. He has the skills and youth that Hill does not, and he has the proven playmaking ability that Smith does not.
I think because Favre is a one year solution in all likelihood, the Vikings will try to keep Jackson. If Jackson is angry, maybe the 49ers would be a nice fit for him.
Note: In a 35-14 win against the Cardinals last year, Jackson threw for 300 yards and 4 scores.

No thanks. I wouldn't mind us going after Tyler Thigpen though. He's in an even more likely situation to want out of the team he's with and he actually looked alright on a more consistent basis with far less talent.

Outside of his big game against the Cardinals, he looked the same as he looked in 2007. No thanks.

I am not a fan of him. I watched every Vikings game last year since I live in the area. There is a reason why the fans were calling for his head.

This would never happen. Tarvaris Jackson isn't a QB you go out and trade for. He can't even hold down the starting job with AP behind him. Peterson makes the D go into a permanent 8-man front which should make his life easy, and he still plays himself to the bench. He has some skills but he isn't an upgrade by any means over what we have.

I watched many vikes games last year (my dad is a fan) and Jackson is awful. His rating is totally inflated due to how hadcuffed he is in that offense. Trust me we dont want him and he most likely will never amount to much. Sadly Id rather even have Alex over him.

Don't we already have a QB like him in Nate Davis?

we might as well sign Vick a better version and we wouldn't have to give up anything in a trade.
Tarvaris Jackson is the black Alex Smith... why would you want to have two stiffs like those?

Is this a serious thread?
Man they're willing to take Favre out of retirement, injured, over him... How can someone want him!

Do you guys even watch games? Is every black QB a "mobile QB"?
Between the 3 players listed, the only similarity is skin color. Their on-field play does not resemble one another.

I dont dislike him, I'm just not convinced he is better than any QB we have on the roster.

I'd rather give Alex Smith another shot than waste any time on Tavaris.
