Ok everyone I have seen a lot of back and forth about what to do before the game in minneapolis this Sunday. A buddy and I did this in St. louis 2 years ago and we got 50 Niner fans to show up. Both of us live in the cities and are going to give it another go with a goal of 100 Niner fans in one spot before the game. Just think of it getting boozed with all your 49er friends talking how we are going to kick some serious butt this year. I would love to see a sea of red hit minneapolis by storm. We are trying to get the owner to have a happy hour menu for Niner fans, so i need everyone to let us know if you are going to make it down there. They open at 9am so I am encouraging everyone to get there then to drown out the viking fans.

9am
Grumpy's right across from the stadium at 1111 Washington Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55415

I hope you all have a great time. I just watched a news article here in Seattle about a guy who was at the game last weekend in SF. Seems he got blindsided and lost a couple teeth after the Seahawks lost. The cops who watched it called it a personal dispute. I was there with 5 other people, and I can tell you that I have never felt so physically threatened in my life. Even the three women in our group were accosted and shoved around. My group goes to one away game every year, and you can bet we just made our last one to SF. We host 10 games a year in Seattle, and I have never witnessed anything close to what we all experienced in your fine city.........too bad we'll never be back. I sure hope you find the folks in Minnesota nicer than your hometown. You will, they couldn't be worse.

Go niners, kick that purple wearing butt!! I was there in st louis 2 years ago with all the niner fans and it was awesome, especially since we kicked the rams butt too. I plan on being at grumpy's this year as well to get primed before kicking some more butt! Favre and peterson are going down! Go niners!!!!!! see everyone there

You weren't there, a Seattle TV station reported it, and it involved a couple of fans FROM BOTH TEAMS. I guess there were no problems with the other 66,998 fans.

This could have happened at any large sporting event in the world.

I'm sure you and your 5 other people were quiet and minding your own business and did not provoke any trash talking. When you come to another teams stadium wearing your colors, expect trash talk.

I might try to make this.. I tend to go into the stadium right at the 2 hours before game time. I will have to see what hotel i can find, and cost because im making the trip by myself from Texas. So pending how much i can find the hotel for and where its at i might stop by this grumpys place for an hour.

Me and the girlfriend are gonna be down from Canada. First NFL game. Cant wait. Will be there at some point between 9 and 10. Another boardie told me the dome opens at 10am and you can possibly get autos if players head onto the field to stretch, warm up, etc. So I wanna try n do that aswell.

We're thinking of doing that as well. Just wanted to ask you and anyone else on the board, when to go into the stadium if you'd like to get down closer to the field to watch warmups and get some pictures...??? I've always ended up tailgating too much. THanks

@Iowa49erFan: Im right next to you (North Liberty), hope to see ya up there!! :-)

@berry- Hell yes im serious!! Call me sadistic, I dont care. Ive hated Favre forever and im sick of all his flip flopping bs! I just want him gone for good, PERIOD!! We've allready taken out 2 qbs in 2 games. You know, they say "3rd times a charm" ... wave goodbye to Grandpa Favre for good!!

@49rchick - Im not planning to tailgate in the lots, since its going to be mostly Vikes fans. Id have much more fun in the bar with my fellow Niners Faithful. Ill buy ya a drink or two if that keeps ya there :-P

Yeah I don't know if I'll be able to pull myself and friends away from the sauce that early, but as long as the Metrodome serves booze I think it'd be cool to watch warmups for a bit

Well then you should have waited, because I got there at 9am and there were two guys allready there and we had a nice little showing. I had a blast messing with all the Vikes fans! BTW, it was great to see everyone from the board who showed up!! :dance2:

Tough loss. Still had an awesome time. Nice meeting everyone who showed up. No doubt the niners are still gonna take the NFC West.

And I agree with Singletary's comments after the game...

"I don't want to see you looking at the floor! You didn't steal nothing! You didn't do anything wrong! We will see them again! In the playoffs! Hold your heads up! Don't you look down at the floor for nobody! You have nothing... to be looking down at the floor about! Pick your heads up, put your shoulders back and let's rock!"

I loved your sneakers. Usually nobody can top my red and gold sneakers but you did because you had the actual logo on them.

And I think I was pretty easy to spot. I was the only girl.

We didnt get there until 10 and my GF went in but she said there wasn't anyone around, lol, she said she saw one Niners jersey in there.

I sported my Reebok Niners shoes as well to the game.

Great game, nice to see so many Niners fans.
