Clements (CB)is making 7.2 million dollars and will demand more up front as well. Hamlin (S) is making $380,000 and will ask for more as he deserves. Personally, I think this may be Tony Parish's last year unless he breaks out this season and with our need in the secondary focusing around the safeties Hamlin is the better choice. I also think Nolan would much rather pay Hamlin than overpay Clements. Even with all the cap space we will have I think it would be better to sign Hamlin and draft either Meriweather or Landry.

Yeah. Like those people said above.
Some great safeties, middle linebackers, etc. to choose from in this draft.

Clements = Too much cash.
Hamlin = I don't think the hawks will let him walk, save for a first round pick.

There's also the doubling effect in that it would be a loss for our division rival. Seachicken and his evil henchmen. :jay:

In what I've seen of him, I don't think Clements is an elite corner. Yet he's going to get elite money.
Hamlin, sometimes he looks like he's turning into an elite safety. Othertimes... Not so much.
In either case, free agency isn't the way I'd like to build a team. Unless it's a cap-related fire-sale, most of the players that hit FA have problems or are over-rated.
