Saints S Darren Sharper was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week over Patrick Willis. Sharper had a half-sack and two INTs (99-yd TD).

Well he did have a good game. And it was against a better team. Can't complain too much. Doesn't really matter though. I'd rather Willis get defensive player of the year.

Darren Sharper and Rod Woodson are the only two DBs with 10 ints returned for TDs....and not to mention Rod Woodson is a Hall of Famer.

Wow. I thought for sure Jarred Allen would get it this week just because EVERYONE saw the Packers and Vikings game. I don't mind this at all. His pick 6 went for a lot more yards and he got 2 interceptions on the day. Plus he did it against a guy not name Boller.

Darren Sharper won that game by himself. That offense couldn't do anything. Patrick Willis had a hell of a game but sadly we could have still beat the Rams even without his excellent performance.

It should have gone to Allen.

Sharper is playing very well though.

Its a 3 man race betwene Willis, Allen and Sharper to Defensive player of the year right now.

As much as I like Willis, Sharper was a huge difference maker in a close game. Willis would have had it any other week, but Sharper did something special this week.

This.

Sharpers play's had more of an actual effect on the outcome of the game. Where as Willis' great game wasn't vital to our win.
