So who do we take?
We know obviously what our main concerns are. A pop warner defense just isn't gonna get it done at this level. Any suggestions??

Let's just hope these other winless teams don't continue losing so whoever we take it'll be someone of impact.

Are there any Shawn Merriman type of players in the 07 draft? I want one.

Oh lordy....

Raiders
Lions
Cardnials
Rams
All winable games....

And all teams who may end up with worse records..

Not to mention the Titans....

I like Quentin Moses a whole lot.
Pass rushing specialist.

I love Laron Landry from LSU. There's a bunch of great defensive players who will be available. It just comes down to what area of the defense we ought to be looking for. Cuz we have wholes EVERYWHERE! The D-line gets NO pressure whatsover, linebackers in the middle are not making any impact, and (mr. obvious) our secondary.. well.. let's just say we need some assistance here.

My opinion, we need an impact safety and/or a pass rusher on the D-line.

Can you draft a new coach? Nolan will be out of here after next year. ALex will be better but the defense will still be horrible and we wont be any closer in all reality to getting back to class of the league.

We need a new RB and CB in a bad way.

We need a new RB and CB in a bad way.You are ready to fire Nolan all ready? Do you know what he inherited here? Give him time.

It all depends, if this lousy year continues and we are drafting in the top 3, along with Gore constantly coughing up the ball.....I would like for us to take RB Adrian Peterson. but we need defense bad, especially the safeties positions. Parrish, Roman, Lewis, Adams are not cutting it back there rotating together and all. Need the likes of S Griffin from Texas.

Mangini did inherit a QB with playoff experience. But what has he done? He's beaten the rebuilding Titans, the rebuilding Bills.

Coughlin inherited a 1/2 decent team, but he still had to wait for Eli to develope.

Difference is those coaches inherited a team that was poorly coached but had pieces to build around. You guys didn't have any spot to sit back and say, "That's where we start" beyond your LBs and when Winbum was sent packing even that wasn't a spot to be wowed out.

But today definitely was a step down.

Edit: Oh and could you guys tell your coaches to stop wearing sunglasses. Erickson did it and so does Nolan. Try not to be a superstitious person but...

Nolan is doing a good job rebuilding EVERY position that we have. He HAS to be given more time. The niners are still a terrible team, so with Nolan it's not about the W's, but more about whether the team is showing progression.

As for the draft I would love to get Calvin Johnson, but we really do need defense, so I would go with Major Adams, Gaines Moses, Landry, or Merriwhether.

I admit I don't watch College ball much.

Who's Calvin Johnson? What team/position?

calvin johnson is an animal and a man among boys at the college level but i dont know our defense is so bad we need to focus on that.

we may not even be picking in the top 5 of this years draft, just checked it out that assuming green bay loose on the road to pihladelphia in the monday night game there will be 8 teams with a 1-3 record or winless.

Good God! We're only a quarter of the way into the season and you folks are throwing in the towel on the whole thing! So our team suffered a major setback this week. BFD. ******* happens! It happens to everyone now and again. This thing will take some time, especially given what Nolan inherited.

All of that said, based on what we've seen so far, I'd love to see some fresh blood on the D-line...the kind that's suited for the 3-4 and can generate some semblance of a pass rush. It's easy to point the finger at the secondary, but any QB will pick apart any secondary given enough time. (Do not read this as my attempted exoneration of the secondary, because I realize there are glaring holes there as well.)

We can not rebuild a team over nite. It takes years. So patients is something we all need.

On another note. The niner's can use my son's pop warner defense we have not been scored on yet. And in 4 games have 110 yards total that the defense has given up all rushing with no pass yardage. I'm sure these boy's would love to play..
