here are some ideas that i would like to see for the new stadium..
most of the ideas are taken from plans of other stadiums..
1) have a theme for the surrounding area of the stadium

Anything new will do for me....except a dome, of course. I'd like to see what ideas the designers are chalking up right now. I'm 35 right now, I wonder what my season ticket price will go up to when the stadium finally materializes. I'll be on social security by then, lol!
I hope they do some mircales with parking.

The team store looks dope!!! Multiple exits out of the stadium would be great as well... Its a pain getting out of the stadium after the games.... :nonono:

it's an even bigger pain leaving the parking lot. reminds me a lot of Dodger Stadium.

It is easy to leave Dodger Stadium's parking lot. Most of the fans show up late and leave early!

depends on the games but most of the high profile games i've gone to were hell trying to get out. i was at Game 4 when St. Louis played against LA and it took me almost 2 hours to get out of the lot.

If you get there earlier enough it's better. You park close to the stadium and dart out as soon as the game is over. I go through the 'hood instead of following the main streets. I take the Bay Bridge home.

Those plans look wonderful and of course we need a new stadium. Besides falling apart the "Stick" is too small for a Super Bowl and is a "Monster" to get out of even if you avoid Bayshore by taking the buss route through Hunter's point. Although I have to concede that it was worse at Kesar. That being said, I don't think we shall get a new venue anytime soon. Even though Eddie's dad was big enough to build a new complex, he could not muster the necessary political clout given the upfront costs to the City. There are even more significant concerns over revenew now since the Giants are gone and the 9er's only play there about ten times a year. The kind of money needed has not been available from the general fund in the past and so far the tax payers in the City have not been interested in going the municipal bond route. Maybe if we got York elected governor.

Ditto, ANY new stadium will work. I believe we are going fast forward with this process. Hopefully in 3 years we get our own somwhere in San Francisco.
ya im down with any new stadium as well as long as its not a dome.
its slowly coming along, im hoping we have one in 5-7 years realistically, but the sooner the better

Impressive! I really like the team store concept. I'd continue to endure the pain of gettin out of the parking lot for a new stadium.:goodbad:

I think that if they build a new one they should make it easy to take bart too. I think the 'stick with all it's history is good but I believe it's time for a new park. Has anyone ever seen AZ new stadium?

What are the chances of getting a new stadium out there? I don't live in SF, so I don't know the politics of it. With talk of LA getting new teams, are there chances the heads in the front office would want to move given the promise of a state-of-the-art stadium??? I would die if the niners ever left the Bay, and if the public is against tax hikes to build a new stadium, i've got to worry a little....

I have seen many pics and drive by it almost every day here in Phoenix.
It has taken me a while to get used to the "space ship" look.
From everything I see and everything I have read, VERY IMPRESSIVE.
I would love to see the Niners get a cool downtown football only stadium... or at least a new one next to Candlestick.
I think Niner fans will be very impressed with it when you all come down here for the 1st game.

3) have the practice facilities on site
I'm actually surprised most teams don't practice onsite.
I just think it would make a home game more "home" if the games were played on field the players practiced all week on.

I have a feeling that if Eddie D still owned the team instead of his sister, they would be playing in a new stadium right now or at least would have broken ground on one.

And probably at least one more superbowl too...

One thing to remeber is that the 49ers do not owen the land the Staduim will be built on. It will still be owned by the City of San Francisco. There are not too many teams in the NFL or any pro sports that own their stadium. The land the Stick is on is worth a lot more if they (City of SF) sold it off. Look how long it took the Giants to get Pack Bell I mean SBC, or AT&T (did they merge with anyone today yet?). i do not know of any owner who would go out and spend all of his money on building a new stadium. Myself I do not want to have to pay a PSL. Look how well it worked across the Bay in Oakland. That is the first time I have ever felt sorry for a Raiders fan. Here you have to pay for the rights to have your seat for 10 years and pay for your tickets too. Guess what PSL's do not work in areas that have teams. The Cowboys are getting a new stadium and they are not even in Dallas. Another county is building for them.
