Hi, everybody! :sflogo: Looks like the Cowboys/Eagles game is gonna be a doozy with Terrell Owens returning to Philadelphia and playing against his former team there. :hunter: Kickoff at Philly is at 1:15pm Pacific time and is being televised on the NFL On Fox Sports.

T.O. has left his mark in the NFL with his on the field legacy and his off the field controversy first with the 49ers. Ironic both of T.O.'s former QB's Donovan McNabb and Jeff Garcia are now on this year's Eagles Roster!:football:

Entertaining if this game is televised at the same time in the Bay Area because our 49ers host the Raiders again at Monster Park at 1:05pm. :sf49:

Yeah you know that no matter what the score is 28-7 or 6-3 etc., this game is pre-emptively game of the week and on NFL Replay automatically. Freaking NFL Network. If the Niners and Raiders have a 56-55 shootout they still don't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting any airtime.:nonono:

However I don't think the Eagles are going to :money: this one in. They have the crowd and all... but... they have been beating up on not so good teams and even when they play a young team like us the refs help em get a fat lead. So now... they play their division foe that has more talent and TO :shoot: Eagles will be back on the extinction list

Goeagles99:

Another thing to consider is that Dallas does not have much luck in Philly. They won here last year, but we've already covered that. They won here in 1998 against a dreadful team. They won here in 1996 in a MNF thriller. Ty Detmer had a concussion and was calling BYU plays in the huddle. Dallas is 3-7 in their last ten trips to Philly.
Are you insinuating that the Cowboys suck at Philly?

It's a really easy way to push the buttons of fans with serious insecurities. I'd rather have won an SB yesterday than 10 years ago. BUT...on the flipside...

Some Overall stats
Regular Season: 461-510-25
Home: 264-227-13
Away: 197-283-12
Postseason Record: 16-16
First Regular-Season Game: A 56-0 loss to the New York Giants, 10/15/33.
First Winning Season: In 1943 the Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers merged and posted a 5-4-1 record. The one-season merger was made necessary by manpower shortages caused by World War II.
First Playoff Appearance: A 21-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1947 NFL divisional playoff, 12/21/47.
First Super Bowl Appearance: A 27-10 loss to the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XV, 1/25/81.

It's the typical 49er and Cowboy response. Both teams have fallen off and half of the people with that response either never saw their team actually win a super bowl, the other half are of lesser intelligence and cannot come up with anything.

But you see...I DID see the team win one. And I was 8 years old and pretty competent about football...at least competent compared to some of the 20+ year old fans who watch it nowadays *cough*DallasNiner*cough* :whistling:

Growing up in the 90s, it wasn't hard to gain an appreciation of the 49ers. And of course I have every single game from the 80s on DVD for reference...which I like to pull out during the summer...at least the wins.

Are you implying that nobody under a certain age limit can root for a team or appreciate its past?

Also...where have the Cowboys fallen off? They're right back into the hunt this year, and might just win that division/make the playoffs.

Not really. It bothers me when it comes from people that have never even seen their team play in a super bowl (although The Vin stated he did afterwards so no biggy).. Otherwise I'm more amused by it now days. That's the only response to everything from 49er and Cowboy fans. I got used to it a while ago.
Why does it matter if you've seen it or not? It happened, and thanks to NFL films we know for sure.

I think it's pretty pointless to make a claim like that if you were one of the following:

1) Not alive
2) Not a fan at the time
3) Or too young
That's your opinion I guess. My opinion is that I should be able to claim how many SB's my team has won.

That's the issue to me. The 49ers franchise has won 5 SBs but this team has done nothing. It doesn't even upset people anymore its just a concession, "my dad is bigger 'n yours" argument. Yay the 49ers have 5 SBs in the trophy case, AORN none of those 5 SBs is playing at OL or DB so who gives an ish.

But I still love you guys

5 SB's!:)

The whole point is that if some of you are so fixated on 1982 then why shouldn't Eagles fans be fixated on 1960? The only reason Niner and Cowboy fans only "count" Lombardis is really simple: If they didn't GB would own every team outright and we couldn't have that now could we????

I dunno about that. If you're a fan of a team, a true fan at least, and you happen to be born beyond their glory years but then make it an effort to educate yourself, go back and watch previous games, and learn of the history then I really can't fault that person as making a pointless claim. I was born in 1986 to a family of 49er fans. It doesn't mean I can't go back and respect or understand why the 49ers were so good in the 80s.

As for the past...I agree that living in the past is unhealthy. But, growing up and watching guys like Young, Rice, Lott, etc it sure as hell has some resonance still. I wish our current team could emulate the golden years of the franchise, and while it's certainly past our time right now, I don't really deem everything done in the past as irrelevant. When you're good enough to win a championship, especially back in that NFL era when there wasn't always a new champion crowned every single year, then you etch your place in time. And so the 49ers will always have their past to cherish and admire. The problem is if that becomes our only point of salvage. I sure as hell hope not, because I want to win every year. But right now in Niner Land, there aren't too many other things to get excited about.

Yep, how to share the football with the defense. I wonder if those cowpuke fans will DARE to show up on the EMB after Bledsoe gpt sacked that many times. "The cowboys have only given up three sacks all year. what are you guys gonna do????"

Bledsoe was on his back more than Jenna Jameson today. I'll admit I was worried after that last PI call. I thought we would see OT..........

They didn't kill them though. It was a loppy game with a bunch of turnovers. McNabb will remain at the top in passing though, but I know, he is overrated..........:spy:

I hate say it, but the way he was yelling at everybody it might happen. The thing that annoyed me the most during the whole game was that everytime the Dallas O was on the field the pointed a yellow arrow at his position just incase we all forgot he was playing.........:mouthclosed:

Is it just me or the almighty Roy Williams got OWNED, once again, on pass coverage?

Flea-flicker... McNabb throws the bomb to the end zone... Reggie Brown gets just a little separation from the CB, but Roy was positioned to make a cut and deflect/intercept the ball. Dude looks lost; TD Eagles. :falldownlaugh:

Bledsoe is not going to help them at all. He threw more picks than touchdowns last season. I expect more of the same this year.

Awesome! Anytime a weekend ends with the Niners winning and the Girlz AND Faders losing, it's a great weekend!

Hey, Nikko... when are you going to own up to being wrong about HB3? You can say it: Mini, you were right, and I was wrong!

{5-20-06} HBIII won't make the active eagles roster. He will be practice squad the first year, maybe second.

Reggie Brown, Pinkston, Gaffney, Lewis, Avant, and Bloom (due to returning services) will make the active roster. If one gets injured, Hank may be promoted.

Roy is often a liability and loses games for the Cowboys, the day of a strictly in the box safety is over in the NFL.

You obviously didn't listen to me shortly after I actually watched some of his practice film and saw him in preseason. The kid is impressive, and had an amazing day. I've been on his "bandwagon" for a couple months now.

Uh huh, what you're saying is you learned something, and you came around to my way of thinking.

You still need to admit I was right and you were wrong.:yu:
