He is seriously a hazartd to any and every QB. He sucks at OT, and sucks at Football. He is undersized, weak, and doesnt understand whjat the hella False Start Penalty is. Kawame Harriss seriously accounted for like 3-5 TDs that were brought back last year cuz he cant play T. He is the largest bust after stokes and Carmazzi, that I can rmeber and shouldnt have been selected in the first round anyway. Last season, the only thing I didnt agree with nolan on was the amaount of playing time that Harris got. I undersatand Jennings was injured, but Adam Snyder was doing fabulous out there. He was mean, rough, and at times he defended his QB. This what you look for in a Oline. I agree, that towards the end of the year, our Oline played more together and were great out there, but that was because Harris want playing. This guy needs to be cut, and if he someohw finds a way to start over either Allen Jennings or Snyder, then something is really wrong with the staff. Kwame Harris needs to quit football. He is a disrespect to the 49ers and the NFL. Your take on this loser? Any other players you cant our couldnt stand?

All the 49er faithful feel that way, I would think. He has to know that. But that was last season. There's been a lot of time to work with him. If Nolan believes in him, then it's because he is sure Harris won't make the same game-changing mistakes that he did last season. So last season is forgotten. If he does it again, I think Nolan would be the first to act on that. Let's hope Harris has learned, and is going to be a solid asset to the offense!
Right?

Your right I think he is in the same league as anthony clemonts and should of been traded when we had the chance.

I think most of us would agree kwame sucks, but I'd like to see the 49ers try him at guard. He always does good on run plays, and he shouldn't have all his annoying false starts if Alex Smith was right in his ear hole.

Nah, i am gonna hope that syder takes the RT spot away from harris, and things will be well in ninerland. Maybe if kwame looses the starting job he will realize he has some serious work to do and improve while he is a backup.
he is good for a backup and for depth on the OL, but not as the starter. his footwork is terrible.

He has slow feet, but not as slow as Clements. If he beats out Snyder, great. If not we will await his fate, does he stay or does he go?

The only reason I do not knock Kwame that much is because we had a complete bag on our team by the name of Anthony Clements. I loathe and abhor Clements. He is not even worthy of arena football. Clements, as i have said 100 times, is ten pounds of ish in a 5 pound bag. There will never be anyone worse in a 49ers uni than Anthony Clement. (Yes, I even hold Cortez in higher respect than Clement, only cause he made one out of five field goals to beat the Raiders. At least Drunkenmiller had a cool name and was a cool jersey to have for a quick minute...) However, I was very disapointed to hear that we passed on that trade offer from the Falcons. To be an optimist, Kwame is young and I think could maybe one day become a consistent player. If anything, we could def. use the depth considering how depleted our O-line has been the last 3-4 years.

Is it true that we were affored a draft pick for Kwame and we said no? I'm not sure, that's what I think I saw someone write on this MB.

Harris is 6'7" 310 lbs, not what I would call undersized. I'd agree he's been a disappointment and if this is not a good year for him, he should no longer be a 49er.

Mike Nolan seems to give players a lot of chances to shine, but it seems he looks for their replacements too. I would say Harris will not a be niner long if he doesn't improve. If I remember the year we drafted Kwame Harris other gurus were saying it wasn't that great of a pick. He did great in college but he couldn't make it in the NFL. Big surprise Donohue made the selection.

If I remember correctly, Harris was a RT in college, and we switched him to LT. He never really adjusted to that side. Then we switched him back to RT this past season, and expected him to play like a veteran there. He appeared to be playing more like a rookie. It was very disappointing.
He may never adjust to the RT position in the pros, and if not then something will be done about him. I believe he gets this one more chance, but that may be only until about June 1. Frankly, I hope he does well.
OTOH, I believe Snyder has a good shot at winning the RT position. If so, Harris will likely be moved to backup, or traded.

Supposedly we were offered a third this year and a fourth next year by atlanta.

I thought we were offered a swap of players... Harris for TJ Duckett.
But it was never confirmed.

He's a capable backup, and whether he'll ever be starter level, well -- he has to work on his strenght, footwork and a lot of other stuff. But as of right now, I would not cut him either because I think he's versitile enough to play as backup till the starter comes back from injury.

I agree, backup - we need depth, and he'll provide depth. Traded, probably not - as another poster said, they had a chance to trade him earlier and declined. Quite possibly he can improve he's still a young guy - and good O Linemen do develop after a number of years so who knows, but I definitely want to keep him as a backup and not a starter.

Whatever Coach Nolan sees, I believe. If he chose not to trade Kwame to the Falcons, then we assume that Coach sees the problem and will work hard to address that conflict. Unless Kwame messes up this season/gets beat out by Adam(Coach said he's competing with Adam Snyder)/quits football, then we make sure he is banished from Ninerland.

I think that KWAME's strength and mental game accuity is at question but I think that if he gets himself together, he can play some GUARD POSITION so as not to expose his footwork as much as the TACKLE position.
Unfortunately, we are flooded with GUARDS. Having said that, I think that KWAME is on his last leg in term of proving himself out there. I am still not giving up on him though it was pretty tough last year. He costed us a lot of games due to his OFFSIDES and just plain not doing his assignments.
Come on KWAME...show up please!:tiptoe:
Oh I agree, he was terrible last year - with all the injuries and lack of run and passing game.
I hope he can get his mental game in order - and I hope he can become a quality lineman, but unfortunately the folks who drafted Kwame were never that mentally tough themselves and could not recognize those qualities in their draftees.
The guys we are bringing in now have the mental toughness because our coach has the mental toughness. Kwame, if he doesn't improve, will forever be a backup, and backups don't last too long in this league.

I think Snyder will get the job almost for sure. But had we traded him away that would have killed the very little depth that we do have on the OL. Cement was garbage and we shouldve paid to get rid of him but thats a different story. Harris is an almost decent backup (he frustrates me when he is in there) but I doubt he will ever be a starter for any team with any kind of depth in this league. The only reason I am OK with keeping him is for depth but withing the next 1-2 years I do not see him on our roster anymore.

The guy needs to go, he is a constant reminder of what a bone head Terry Donahue was on draft day. I bet that Nolan gives him one more chance in camp to prove that he belongs, and when Kwame proves he doesn't Nolan will trade him somewhere to be a backup for a 6th rounder in the draft next year.

I agree whole heartedley with the first post. Kwame Harris was responsible for having the GREATEST CATCH OF ALL TIME called back. 2006 home game vs. Giants: Pickett drops back lobs the ball up, and Brandon Lloyd goes up and backhand PALMS the ball at the one yard line. Everyone is going crazy, but then wait a minute.. "Holding, 77 offense, that's a ten yard penalty, replay 2nd down". I could name you many, many more TDs or great plays that were called back because of him, but I'd rather not bore you.
