Does anyone know if we will be able to get a jersey with the 60th Anniversary patch on it?
I want to get the Dukes but was curious if this was something we may be able to get.

Well I don't remember if the 50th aniversary ones were able to be purchased back in 1996. If they were, than perhaps. You should ask a Jacksonville Jaguars fan on a message board if they were able to get their jerseys with the 10th aniversary patch on it last year. Or ask a St.Louis Rams fan if they were able to get their patch. *shudders*
Rams....:baghead:

The Dolphins offered the patch for whatever season it was last year for like $5 more.

I have been waiting to see if NFL shop is going to offer 49er jerseys (authentic or replica) with the 60th anniversry patch on it. I still don't see it. It would be a shame not to put the patch on jerseys for people to buy. Is there any way to get some confirmation on whether or not they will offer this to the public (especially on the 49ers official message board)?
Please put the 60th anniversy patch on authentic and replica jerseys, even if they charge $5 extra.

I bought a Steve Young 50th anniversy jersey and it has the patch on it. I bought it back in 1996 too, so I would think they would sell the new jerseys with the 60th patch.

I was looking on 49ers.com the other day and right now it looks like the authentic jerseys with 60th anniversary patch are maybe sold out and we know how that goes so i was loooking on ebay and actually found a site where a guy is selling the actual 60th anniversary patches they are a little steep considering that 49ers SHop offers them for 5 dollars more but for 16 dlvd u could update your jersey with the patch. Since that is the only thing different about this years jerseys. Just thought i would let everyone know bout them. I ordered one for my red and might get another for a white if i cant order a white one with it.

FYI, the Fan Club is having a giant blow-out sale right now with discounts from 30-70% on mdse. However, I phoned them to find out about the 60th anniversary patch. The person answering the phone told me that they had none of the patches and that they were not buying any more jerseys. So, that means that none of their jerseys will have the 60th patch.
I'm hoping that the 49ers will have the 60th anniversary patches to sell at training camp. But I don't KNOW this for a fact. On Monday (tomorrow), I will call the 49ers to see if I can find out from Mktg/Sales if this is possible. If I learn anything, I will let you all know.

I'm kinda torn here:
I REALLLLLY wanted the Vernon Davis jersey with the 60th anniversary patch, but they're only doing the authentics. That's like 250 bucks essentially, with S&H.
Can't they put out the normal jerseys (75 bucks) with the 60th anniversary patch. Or I dunno, sell the patch separately and let us sew it on?

Fricker,
How much did you have to pay for the patch? Just so we all have an idea of what it costs...and can you tell us the name of the source (if a business) so that anyone else can procure one? Thanks.

Ya jan i can i had actually posted the link from ebay on here in one of these threads the day i saw them. They seemed a little over priced but i guess better then paying 250 for a jersey which i did anyways lol. But they were
$16.95 dlvd from this ebay user http://cgi.ebay.com/2006-60TH-SAN-FRANCISCO-49ERS-ANNIVERSARY-PATCH-JERSEY_W0QQitemZ320009380662QQihZ011QQcategoryZ252 13QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
if you ask me that isnt that bad thats why i went ahead and got 2 of them. Because the jerseys with the patch are sold out every where. And knowing them they wont get more till football season starts which means that u would receive it until like the 8th week of the season meaning that ya ur 60th anniversary patch is half way over hehe. I only know this cuase i bought my first authentic me jersey last year and had that problem so i ordered the white one last week with out the patch since they are out and got 2 from him. I am sure you can email him and ask if they are getting anymore they also have a site www.patchcollection.com i looked and there isnt any on there but all i can say is contact the user and find out the info you can get. If you wanted to get a Replica Jersey and then got this patch ur lookin at what like $95 dollars which is alot less than 250. 49ers.com charged 5 per patch on the jersey so an extra 10 isnt that bad which yall woulda seen it when i posted it here tho :/ Hope this helps

Thanks for the heads up Jan. I'm going to be in San Jose tomorrow. So I'll definitely be stopping by the Fan Club and stocking up on some 49er stuff.
Well I was in San Jose this morning and I did stop by the Fan Club. Lots of great great deals. I got so tempted to buy a bunch of stuff. Pretty much everything was at least 50% off . I picked up those red 49er sweatpants that the players wear to the game when they are injured. I got a big flag for the house and a couple of small random things. As I was paying for the stuff (great deal BTW), I asked about the custom authentic jerseys. I had bought a white 75th anniversary jersey a couple of months back for about 210 bucks..
He said that I could get one for $110.00. I jumped on that. I had to get it. I ordered a RED 1994 75th Anniversary Jersey of "Mr. Click! Clack!" .. yeah that's right. Vernon Davis. It's going to look sweet!!!
Another tidbit. It looks like the Fan Club is going to close its doors for good. Maybe in September. They have some great deals right now. Once the season gets closer and closer, the deals should get better as they try to get sell off all the goods that they have.
I'll miss the store. Too bad that it had to end that way. Hasn't been the same since Mike and his pops sold the store. No newsletters, no autograph signings.
I'll definitely be hitting up that spot again for more stuff.

NFL shop or the 49er website should offer replica jerserys with the patch on it because they would sell a lot of them. I would buy one for sure. They (whoever) is missing out on making a bunch of money.

RaiderHater,
It is very sad to see them going out of business, and yes, I do miss Mike and Ken a lot. Nobody could keep their heads above water with such steep rent, through. That's highway robbery.
As soon as the heat slows down a bit, I'll drop by. Maybe on Thursday, after I get my hair done. Have to get all the mop looking good for Friday, you know.
What did you mean when you said you ordered a 75th anniversary jersey of Click-clack VD? I presume you meant 60th anniversary?
I'm in the process of making MY OWN shirts from photos that I've got. I was busy on that today. Tomorrow I have to iron on the decals I made today on my computer. I learned how to use the scanner today! (I know, I'm ancient history....)
The only problem is that I cannot throw the shirts in the dryer when I do them myself or they disintegrate. But they look great before they get their first washing. I understand from Office Depot (where I bought the decals) that you can wash them in a gentle wash but you can't put them in dryer. So, I hope that works this year. Hey, this smiley looks like me...:shades:
See you soon at one of the practices. :ok:

Yeah that's too bad.. It use to be a great spot. I'll miss the autograph parties and just going there to check out the latest 49ers stuff.. Santana Row was a great spot. I bet the rent there was crazy....
Now I have to find a new spot to get all my 49er stuff. I might have to open up my own store.
No I did not order a 60th anniversary patch V. Davis jersey. The Fan Club still had a couple of custom authentic plain jerseys there. So I asked them if they could make me a Vernon Davis jersey using the 1994 Home 75th Jersey.
I know he wasn't on the squad back then, but I wanted a 1994 home jersey and figured I'd get a V. Davis one. Plus, you won't see many people sporting that jersey.

The hours are not correct. I think they are open until about 7:00p.m. It has their basic information. You would have to call them to see what they got. They are out of the RED jerseys. From what I was told some guy walked in there and ordered about 30 custom jerseys. He got every kind of jersey for Montana, Rice, Deion Sanders, Roger Craig, Steve Young. He got the home jersey, away, 75th home jersey and 75th away jersey, throwback red..etc..
So all they have left now in customized jerseys are the White Jerseys. No more red ones..

Mike and Kent were the best! The Dwight Clark party was the best I wish I had known something was up at the time. Then the Steve Young signing happened and if you didn't see the writing on the walls at that time, it just was not the same. We made a lot of friends at those signings standing in line. Then they would come by the tailgate at sunday's game. Do they have the 60th's at the NFL shop on Pier 39? I think 49ers have a golden opportunity to start a store for there fans in the Bay Area right now. They should track Mike down to run it, The Fan Club did Ronnie Lott's jersey for the 42 retirement game. We got to see it sunday at the shop when they were sending over to the 49ers before the monday night game.

Yes, I miss Mike and Ken very much; they always treated me with great love whenever I stopped by their shop.
The shop has moved to the Stevens Creek-Lawrence Expwy shopping area (where the Bowl-er-ama was/is?). As you turn in the driveway, it is on the far left. You can't miss the red pennant with THE FAN CLUB above the door.
The telephone # is 1-408-249-8000 and if the toll free # is still in use, it is 1-800-669-4937. Check their website to see if the toll-free # is correct. According to an old news letter, the website is www.49erFanClub.com If any of this is changed, please post here.
I'm waiting for the heat to settle a little more to stop by and visit them. I may go tomorrow, as I have another appointment in the afternoon slot. May as well kill 2 birds with 1 stone...
Bob Madsen (owner) will be happy to see 49er friends stopping by, I'm sure. I've had my eye on one SY frame with his image painted on it. Maybe it's gone already. It was quite expensive, but I do love Steve. He's my favorite all-time 49er (along with Brent Jones).
Ya gotta love those crazy guys! :towel: And those darlin' smilies, too!

I think there are a couple of reasons for the downfall of the sports store. One is free agency. Look at how much stock of replica jersey's The Fan Club always had on hand. To have jerseys that are useless after a year or two ties up a lot of money. The secound is one source. All of the NFL items are made by Reebok. There is not five or six differnt companys that make on field hats and other things. The price point is set and that is it. One thing I loved about the fan club was you could get some cool onfeild stuff that the NFL didn't have for sale at there web shop. Anyone who was at the Steve Young signing that the Fan Club had could see the writing on the wall that it was over for the Fan Club. They lasted about 8 months longer than I thought they would.

Are you sure the date for the Fan Club's closing is the END of September? I thought it was mid month, but I might be wrong. If you are in the Bay Area, call 408-249-8000. Don't know if they still have their 800 #, which was 800-669-4937. Or go online to www.49erFanClub.com. Good luck!
Wouldn't want people to be disappointed if they were planning to go later in September (after it closed).
I did order two patches from the Patch Collection, using the email address you wrote in your post. I'm just waiting for them to email me back with their address so I can pay for 2 patches.
