UGLY!!! Brandon Merriwether one of the top S prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft CLEARLY showed he has character issues and I believe this incident will hurt his DRAFT STOCK significantly. Really just a horrible display by both teams, but perhaps the scariest thing was the Miami players holding their helmets high like they'd won an important game or a national championship. THE U just showed the NFL what they're all about. It's a clear sign the program has fallen significantly in its development of TOP NFL prospects as well as an obvious statement that LARRY COKER is part of the problem, not part of the solution. This will go down as the SADDEST DAY in "THE U'S" history.

Brandon Merriweather already fell out of hte first round and that just hurt him more. He hadn't preformed like a first rounder (average run support, average pass coverage).. He's not a top of the line athlete to have workouts to get him back into the first, and with the gun incident in preseason, and then this.. Well I wouldn't be surprised to see him take a big fall.
I'm not so sure if this will hurt his draft stock.
Could you see him throwing any punches in the video?

you can see Merriweather trying to stomp on people with his feet. What a sad group of morons. Reminds me of the Pistons / Pacers game. Human beings are so stupid sometimes...

Coker said the five players ejected in the fight -- offensive linemen Derrick Morse and Chris Barney, running back Charlie Jones, and cornerbacks Carlos Armour and Bruce Johnson -- would be suspended.
Coker also suspended safeties Anthony Red**** and Brandon Meriweather and fullback James Bryant.

Funny the fans seemed to love it. Also funny to hear the annoucers hype it up instead of discourage it.

i say we need to draft merriweather. the guy is a beast he really can put the hurt on a reciever and doesnt stop when they hit the ground. Thats when hes at his best after the reciever goes down he puts his foot down....on them.... def should be our first rounder.

Ehh..... more college level rumble didnt see anything that hasnt happened in a dozen college games. As for Meriweather he's one of about 20 players throwing punches/kicks on both sides but that no excuses and Im glad he got suspended. Coker is gonna have a hard time winning games without those guys but he did the right thing.
Again, not really a big deal, this stuff happens all the time in college and the players were punished.

They have a rep but the "reality" is FIU is throwing down at least as much if not more than Miami in that clip to start the brawl. Again, its just another example of a college football brawl, I dont condone any of them but it isnt anything out of the ordinary nor is it anything esepcially damaging to Miami since they have punished the appropriate players. This stuff happens; the Clemson/Carolina game comes to mind....

I was specifically looking for him watching the replay on ESPN. There you have, #19 stomping on a rival, somehow "overlooked" due to the melee.

These kinds of things are bad for the sport, but as a spectator it was pretty cool to watch. I thought I was watching UFC with pads, they lit each other up :stooges:
Had the commentator known he would be fired for his comments, I bet he would have gone down the elevator to join in.
