Titans | Team talks with A. Plummer's agent
Tue, 2 May 2006 23:20:41 -0700
The Nashville City Paper reports Tennessee Titans general manager Floyd Reese acknowledged he has had conversations with the agent for free agent CB Ahmed Plummer (49ers). The team's interest in Plummer is tied to how healthy he is.
Only took 4 months!
Aparantly it is Plummer's health tht has been detering teams from having interest in him.
I think that Plummer has been considered a high risk free agent because of the media on him that has had him often injured and/or disinterested in playing. Whichever may be true, both would be factors that teams would want to avoid. Also, the fact that the Niners were willing to take a hit for the majority of his bonus to get rid of him, is also a bad sign.
With players like Plummer, teams most likely wait and see what they can get in the draft before looking at risk players. Now that the draft is over, there will probably be more teams still in need of DBs that will probably look at him.

"Already shy on depth and experience at cornerback, the Tennessee Titans have lost Michael Waddell for four to six months after he suffered a ruptured patella tendon in his right knee during an accident at his home."

They are also speaking to Ty Law.
As for Plummer - I think they probably will sit for a month. I mean the June 1 cuts will be comming soon and there's probably a veteran CB or two that can do what Plummer could.

I call it looking at talent, how well did he play, and since Plummer either got burned, didn't get INTs, got injured a lot, what was the point in keeping him? I am liking NOlan more and more when he can see bad talent like this and dump him. See, that is what makes coaches good to weed out the bad talent and bring this team back to the good old days. Maybe drive ins can be boarded up, but hope can come back to the 49ers like the old days.:yahoo:
****, feels good to be a 49er fan!take out the old and bring in the new, thats what its about!!!!:D
