ok this hasnt been done before and i thought it would be fun but im not sure if it will work.

Heres the idea i will start the mock draft off with a list of teams in the mock draft order and then someone posts who they think the first team will pick and then someone else picks for number two and so and so forth the only rule is you cant pick back to back picks you must wait for someone to post a pick after you its going to go something like this

Misfitz says Raiders will pick brady quinn at number 1

Knobs27 says the Titans will pick Calvin Johnson at number 2

Misfitz says........

hopefully you guys get it and it will be fun the order of the mock draft will be

The browns are in a 3-4 right? I'm pretty sure willie mcginist will retire after this season so they'l probably take someone like gaines adams or something.

why would we pick a Cb over a Safety? Why would you take hall over landry, that is just retarded. I'm sorry i just don't understand that thought process. Rookie safety or rookie cornerback and of all things hall....in the history of the NFL how rookie cornerbacks in the first round have more of an impact the the Safeties that go in the first round (with respect to where the are picked in the first round)? I see landry being a better player than either mccauley or hall in the long run...and he will be the better one straight out of college most likely.

9ersfan
10-26-2006, 12:07 PM
hall and mccauley aren't going over landry, it just won't happen. Landry is easily in the top 10 best players coming out of the draft and this is a universal opinion in almost all rankings.

And don't put words in my mouth. I never said that we didn't need cornerbacks and you are making an *** out of yourself by assuming what i am thinking. You're making a post on what you predict that i'm think thinking and it makes no sense. The reason i made that point in my previous post is because we have needs in both those positions, but we need a safety more so than a CB, period. You can put a rookie CB out there with our safety help and he'll be toast more likely than what we have playing out there right now. You put Landry out there at safety with help over spencer our harris (this is if we can get the pass rush going) and would help us more. Most likely there will be no FA starting safeties in this league that are not resigned next year. Michael Lewis probably isn't going anywhere and neitheris Ken Hamlin. A rookie safety and veteran (proven cornerback) is a much better combo than a veteran safety and a rookie CB, because the CB will still be beat more of (maybe not big passes), but consistent short/medium routes. Very few good cover corners come out of the draft and make impact. Since you know so much why don't you name ten cover corners in the past 3 years that are any good. I can think of maybe 3 or 4. Because to be giving up on our over the top help we better be getting a lockdown corner for it.

Just so you guys know, the vikings wont be selecting a QB anytime soon, they are very happy with Tavaris Jackson who they picked up last year in the second round.

Also, the broncos and redskins would have traded 1st round picks due the the three team deal involving Lelie and Duckett.

Depending on how each team fares this season, the two teams also could wind up swapping first-round picks, but only if Washington is scheduled to pick between No. 21 and No. 31 and Denver's first-round draft position is even higher. Unlikely, though not impossible.

I havn't paid attention to this.. but WTF are you thinking?

I got two posts in and thought that. Gaines Adams is not a flipping LB. The guy has a DL-men's base. It is possible they could beef him up to play DE, but not as a LB replacement for McGinest.

With the first pick of the 2007 Draft the Oakland Raiders select Brady Quinn

Bad mock draft already.

I take it from some good Raiduhs fans... they don't take QBs in round 1. And Brady doesn't have the elite physical ability that old Al covets. He'll prolly take Calvin Johnson and trade Jerry Porter away. :fishing:

That, and there is word they actually like Walter. Also, I think they'd be more inclined to throw their #1 at ATL for Schaub.

this i disagree with. i think adams is a very good athlete and would make a perfect 3-4 OLB. at 6'5 260lbs and a 4.7 40 he is in the same mold as Merriman and Ware. those 240 lb tweeners IMO are too small and a guy like Adams has the perfect build. yes he is a d-lineman but he is a special player and athlete that i think could make a great transition to 3-4 OLB.

Adams looks like he's in the 280's now. He's built to add weight to his frame. He'll be a DE, I promise.

Adams plays in a zone blitz scheme, and is very good at dropping back into coverage. He's also trying to show NFL scouts that he can tackle in open space, so I think he'd be an ideal 3-4 OLB. But he'd also be a very good 4-3 DE as well.

the only Gaither that plays OT is Jared Gaither from Maryland and he is a freshmen. since he is a freshmen he obviously isn't eligible for the draft so to correct this and keep the mock going for the sake of this thread i am going to switch Gaither with the best available OT which is Sam Baker.

Colts still on the clock...
No. He is a sophmore and three years removed from High School so he is eligible for the draft.
