The N.Y. Giants do a basketball jump shot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXc2CU7isUw) gesture when spectacular plays come up. It might be lame to some 49er fans, but I think it's creative, just like how the Seahawks have the 12TH MAN and the Steelers' Terrible Towel.
Is ours really that "We are the 49ers!" soundtrack?
or fans have something creative like these mentioned teams have?

After talking with several east coasters lately, I've come to realize there is no tradition, or as much passion for sports out here. I personally have plenty to go around, but when I'm at Niner games, I don't see it. We're not Philly, NY, Cleveland, Chicago, KC, etc when it comes to our crowd showing true grit as fans. I'd like to offer an idea, but we should already have one, we're not a new franchise.
Watch any east coast college football game and see the tradition, and the level of passion their fans show. For some reason, that didn't come out west.

First and foremost, we don't have a pass rush.......
We simply don't make consistent plays like that to have a collaborative ceremony. That type of stuff develops in high powered defenses that are making plays.
Besides, I thought it was retarded how they were pretending to play ball after getting a sack..........

Amen. It's the T.O. mentality....It's not enough to do your job well, it's not enough to win. You have to make sure you're on the highlight shows, behaving like an a**
Then when you're team DOESN'T win make sure you make a public display, because it's STILL the most important thing to be seen on the highlight shows.
Just do your job, you don't have to perform Here Come the Jets in West Side Story, every time you make a first down......
Sorry:nolisten: I know....Pet peeve.....

In my opinion, the basketball move is lame.
If I wanted to watch basketball, I'd watch basketball.

Personally, I think the Giants basketball thing is dumb. However, I think it allows their players to be more loose out there and let's them have more fun. It also serves as additional motivation to make a play. Now, I know that players SHOULDN'T need additional motivation to do their job, but this isn't Shouldland.
I think that when you celebrate like that, you put yourself under pressure to perform, or else you look like a fool. To be honest, I wouldn't mind if our defense had some pride out there. If a stupid celebration is what it would take for the D to play better, then I would gladly welcome it.

LOL this is certainly not creative. The Giants just got the dance from Jim Jones and use it when they get a sack.

What I consider creative was cinco-ocho (Chad Johnson) river dance. That was pretty dope.

As stupid as the jump shot celebration is, it is still the best basketball that NY fans will see this year.

That was creative, too bad it was against my Bears. Chad is probably one of the few players that does things like that and doesnt get on many fans nerves.

Sad but True. It's been tough the last few years being a 49ers/NY Knicks Fan.
As for the fans being creative. It would be cool if we had something unique. The only chant that Niner fans do at Candlestick is "Let's Go Niners! Let's Go" (Proceeded by two claps) Pretty lame IMO.

Very true. People on the West coast see football as entertainment only and you can see it with all of the fans that jump on and off of bandwagons. The "12 Man," BS in Seattle is a total myth. Where was that "12th Man." when they almost got a home playoff game blacked out on local TV??? That's right they weren't the number one seed with a clear shot at the SB so the "fans" didn't even bother buying tickets.
The excuse I heard for the 2004 playoffs was,"Well the tickets are too expensive." I'm pretty sure that the tickets in 2004 weren't any cheaper than they were in 2005, but all of the sudden the short bus was full again.......:rolleyes2:

I agree with cinco ocho being creative. I think we should draft any player from the oncoming draft, regardless of talent. Somebody creative to make up celebrations so that we can boost confidence in our team. :shoot:

Yea, I blame Andy Reid for taking our only celebratory man. You know who he is, he's your favorite player.
