hes made a lot more touch throws like that. i think you just chose to forget because you never really thought he should be drafted in the first place.

i think his arm is fine. its not "elite" like marino, elway, favre, cutler, etc but his arm strength is at least as good as brady, both mannings, brees, and QBs of that type in terms of velocity and distance with varying degrees of arc.

the instinct argument i can agree with to an extent, but hes shown flashes of that too. making broken plays into first downs (like the 4th and 1 during that drive against the cards week 1 of 07), breaking sacks and finding outlet receivers, etc... those are instinct plays. he just doesnt play that way on every snap. he is no roethlisberger or favre in terms of improvising.

the one major issue i have with alex is his inability to execute simple plays with consistency. hes had a few years of practice and still cant figure out how to throw a screen. if he gets that down, and then gets to push the ball down the field, he could be dangerous as a passer.

You are so dumb! If you are going to go off of college stats, then Alex has just as good (only played 2 years). Also, Alex showed just as much this pre-season as Nate did. Alex played against starters and Nate played against scrubs (kinda like himself... you know).

Also, if you are going to go off of pre-season performances then shouldn't Glenn Coffee be our starting running back? And since our O-line did so good in run blocking... shouldn't we be the number 1 running team? The difference is Alex Smith played in a normal college spread and Nate Davis played more in a pro style spread.
Have to correct you Nate played not only against scrubs you forgotten the Cowboys and Chargers game? You dumbass.
BTW Alex was weak in preseason just as Shaun Hill the only QB that was good was Nate PERIOD.----------------------------------------

BTW is was before more in favor for Smith than for Hill.
But when i knew that we drafted Nate and watched him closely in the preseason i was sold on him as our future franchise signalcaller.
