If the 49ers have another .500ish year, and get their pick in the 10-14 range what position do they need the most? They have another 1st round pick from Carolina. Do you think they will go QB? Colt McCoy could be on the board, or Jeavon Snead could be.

Defensive Line, this is a must next draft.
![]() Terrence Cody - Alabama (HT: 6'5" | WT: 370) Projection: 1st Round Strengths: -has rightfully earned the nickname "Mount Cody" while at Alabama -really a beast, just takes up space on that defensive line -pretty agile for a man of his size -rare combination of size, athleticism and agility -great lateral movement -simply a run-stopper, will overpower blockers, double-teams have not seemed to phase him either -huge frame makes him a great fit in the 3-4 defense Weaknesses: -not a ton of experience, played 2007 at a Mississippi community college -missed two games to an MCL injury this season -only 5.5 40-speed, but that's really to be expected with a player of his size -started at Alabama at 400 pounds, but still proved to be in good shape

When are people going to catch on to the fact that the best teams in this league build from the INSIDE OUT!!! Skill positions on Offense will only carry you so far. You may get hot, ala Cards, but it won't be sustained.
Our D will underachieve as long as we put off getting a true NT. Offensively, our Oline is solid but not great. Adding a RT this year would've been the right move, but I understand taking the best player in the draft at the 10th spot. I wanted Oher in the 1st or Loadholt in the 2nd, but we didn't have a 2nd. Now we need to address the RT spot this year. If we don't get a NT, RT and a QB next year, we'll keep hovering at that .500 mark. I can't look at next years draft and say who I want because the college season hasn't been played yet. But I can tell you that our OLBs will never get that pass rush we all say we need without an inside presence. Whether its through the draft or free agency, we must get a NT, RT and QB next year... |
